Just Cause 2: Multiplayer - Dedicated Server
How comes that this server application appears in my library (I don't have JC2, nor do I know how the entry got there), but I can't remove it (it's not installed).
How can I get rid of it?

Its under the tools section of the library. You can hide it by right clicking > manage > hide

I know I can hide it. But why is it in my library? I don't want it.

Its in the tools section of the library which is where that type of stuff goes. Dedicated servers, map editors, etc. When you install some games they come with those. Just dont install it then hide it will get rid of it. Only way I know of to deal with it. It only shows up for me when I search "just cause".

Just checked - I have some more "servers" in my library, most of them for games I don't have (and would never even install a demo, prologue or whatever). So why are they in my library?
Yes, hiding them means i don't have to see them anymore. But they are still there. And I'm convinced that Steam has a reason to put them there - I just don't know in which way Steam benefits from having these entries in my library.

Some are there as tools for games you own. Some also seem to be there for pretty much every steam user, for whatever reason(I have almost 200 tools). What I do is filter the tools out from the drop down menu on the top left of library section, and only enable Games. That way 99% of the time I do not even know the tools are there unless they pop up in a related search for a game im trying to find.

steam just gives everyone all the tools for use. It's a good thing valve does. I don't see how this matters though as you can just hide them.

You are not the only user as every user is the same under the tools section. Not sure why someone would complain about free stuff lol
