Why are the movies the wrong way round?
Does anybody understand why they make you play The Incredibles 2 first before 1?

Just can't see any way in which it makes sense.

Because the game came out with Incredibles 2, so it was more likely kids wanted to play first the levels from a movie they just saw, instead of forcing them to play 6 levels from a movie from when they weren't even born yet.

I doubt that any of the kids that watched The Incredibles 2 in the cinema won't have seen part 1 at some point previously.

You're a kid, you just came back from the movie. You got the videogame installed on your dad's PC. What do you want to play? The levels of the movies you JUST watched or the ones from the other movie?

- "Dad I want to fight the raccoon! I want to use a portal! I want to be Jack-Jack!
- "No son, you have to play the entire first movie first".
- "oooh"

Got it? This is why.
I am not saying this was a particularly good choice from the developer/producer. They could have given the player the choice to start from the first movie if they wanted to, as they did for Jurassic World (if I remember correctly) but they didn't so... this is all.

So this is why they made you play the Hobbit trilogy backwards, LoTR backwards and Harry Potter was released as episodes 7-5 and episodes 4-1. Oh wait, they didn't do that.

Guys, no need to be bitter. I offered a plausible explanation. Don't like that? No problem but be respectful. Bye.

No bitterness and hardly disrespectful. Just agreeing with the original poster that it isn't sensible and counter to all the previous LEGO games that have been made out of multiple films.

It would be interesitng if anyone had a link to an interview or similar where the developer gave their reason.

Well I don't know about you but when I was a kid, I always wanted things done chronologically. For example, I believe that after you beat the first level in LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Batman, you could select levels from any of the 3 movies/sections, but I always continue with the 1st and did it in order as it should be, of course I wanted to play through cool scenes from The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, but I wanted to complete Raiders of the Lost Ark first.

Well, then just give a selection screen to chose which film you want to play first. Easy.

I also was this way as a kid, but remember Tt have a very wide audience and they have to consider that putting the first movie first might bore people who have not seen it, and there is a pretty big chance that a person playing this game in 2018 did not see the origional Incredibles movie (if you havent stop what your doing rn and find a way to go watch it, its a good movie)

Well then they should provide options instead of forcing it on people. This is something that excites me about Skywalker Saga. You are given the CHOICE to play them in order from the start or to jump into any film you want.

It may make sense for those who just saw the 2nd but not the first, but it also comes at the cost of those wanting to play the 1st. That's why I feel like the standard for LEGO games going forward is to just let you pick and choose which one you want to play instead of being forced to play one to unlock the rest.

Thank Disney for that. I'm surprised the first level wasn't the raccoon one if that's what people wanted to play, then drop in the lava room level from the first game, then fight the Mole Man back in the second- essentially make the levels from favorite to least favorite scenes.

Satire aside, Incredibles TWO should have been SECOND.

I was also confused as to why it's forcing me to do the 2nd movie first. It's disappointing that I can't choose.
