For me in 20 overs:
Batting:
I play ball-by-ball, will start the over on 6 bars, if I don't get an early 4 it goes up to 7 or 8 bars aggression.
The benefit of playing ball-by-ball is if you get an early boundary (or two) you can then drop the aggression rating and reduce the chance of losing a wicket. It's a must for me, and doesnt take much longer.
It's quite quick to play ball-by-ball and you can play next ball by pressing n on your keyboard
Bowling:
Minimum aggression (unless I really need wickets)
Custom fields (these are important in all formats for me, don't take too long to create)
and the flip... i find it almost impossible to average over 7.5 in a inning, so unless i bowl well, i know i'm going to lose
feels unbalanced to me
Spin is key to restricting runs, getting those decent spinners in as well as custom fields.
note: if instructed to reload last save > alt tab to desktop and close the exe
step1 save the game before goiing into the match
step2 once in the match bat first (or reload last save until you get to bat first)
step3 set highlights to none
step4 set all batsman aggresion to max
step5 save the game
step6 continue batting at max aggression until you run out of batsman or overs
step7 accept the score or reload and continue from step6 again, and again , and again
example surrey vs sussex t20 , same squad, same save start point, same settings, normal difficulty
try 1 surrey all out for 98
try 2 surrey 209 for 7 @ 20 overs
... all skill , no luck...yeah right
and if you think a more about this you will realise that all those little changes and tweeks you made that seemed to work or seemed not to...may have had no effect or even the opposit effect but as meaningfull feedback or any actual usefullness from the changes was lost to the overwhelming dominance of random chance that rules supreme you were most likley wasting your time tring to influence the result
:) great guide
in all seriousness - why cant the dev / moderators just be more honest with the game and engine. yes 20/20 should be a bit more hit and miss than other formats, but also the engine should allow the user to at least compete
