i got the letter. and i got the code. however when i try to put the code in for open the chest. i only get 3 chances. and i need 4 . because its 3522. someone help plz

Input them in the correct order. The dialogue is iffy without exact confirmation.
Use keyboard for being foolproof.
Click 3, click 5, click 2, click 2.

i did use my keyboard for this. but i can put in 3. 5 and 2. it wont give me a 4 time slot to put the last 2 in.

It's a common gripe with this chest, since it seems like it skips an input command and thus giving the idea you only get 3 numbers to put in. Unless you have an unique bug (which seems unlikely) you should be able to open it if done correctly.

Can't give any more advice than 'try again, make sure you absolutely put them in the correct order, one by one'.

thx or helping atleast. i press 3. 5. 2. and then he said lets try again. so i cant put in the last 2

The confusion is that after you enter the third digit, the main character pauses to think for a moment before you can enter the fourth. No matter what they say in that moment, you are still partway entering the digits, even if it sounds like they are done. So while the code is
3-5-2-2
in reality you select:
3 - 5 - 2 - (continue) - 2
