Really? You depower our heroes to the max, make them extra vulnerable, make AoE spells almost worthless and you keep the AI spam?

Jesus, this RTS is BAD! I mean, it's not like I like RTS as a concept to begin with(VERY little actual strategy involved, it's mostly mad clicking), I was fine with the state of vanilla SpellForce 3, why did they have to do this?

Imo, SF works the best as an RPG. If there simply MUST be RTS parts, PLEASE KEEP THEM TO MULTIPLAYER(where they belong: in the sewage drain). Don't waste potential on needless crap.

Congratulations, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! I really want to see what happens with Aerev etc, but ♥♥♥♥ like Howling Steppes just makes the game ULTRA unenjoyable! This is like the very lowpoints of vanilla SF3, like Windwall Foothills or ♥♥♥♥ like that.

I really want to enjoy this like I did vanilla(even though it was plodding at times, admittedly), but it seems impossible because the heroes got weaker due to overall increase to RTS units' power. And then it just gets super unenjoyable, like a poor RTS rather like it used to be.

Why did they have to change anything?

Indeed physically heroes ( talking about armor) seem quite a bit underpowered compared to the original, but the spell damage is about the same, for wave clearing you just need to have 2 multiple target spells or abilities on your spell bar, like lightning and that fireball AOE thingie by ex.

It's not that armor went down*, but that the unit damage went up. And that's because you no longer train groups of units, but mostly solo units. Thus they needed to be rebalanced. Logically so.

As for AoE, an Elementalist(preferably Druid) is suspiciously missing. Compared to Isgrimm, Gor, Rohen and even Undergast...yeah, you really need a Druid(Elemental Shaman) Merc. I wouldn't necessarily give that class to Aerev(something physical fits him much better), but if need be...

*sorry, I forgot about this. Devs actually changed how the Campaign math works and now you get -15 Resist on Normal! Cuz, that's...idk..."Normal"? Seems more like "Hard" to me, but what do I know?

Agreed. RPG and RTS were better in the original game - really did not like the changes at all ...

I actually changed my mind about the RTS part, but I still think the RTS works much better in the Skirmish. Some scenarios in Campaign are just too over the top(like Windwall Foothills in vanilla...damn!). That's all.

I really like the RTS part in the campaign, even if some missions may need improvements and some stats should get rebalanced. I would rather rebalance things in the campaign than taking out the RTS part. This is imo the great thing about Spellforce - it combines two cool genres. Otherwise I rather play games like Divinity Original Sins 2 or Baldurs Gate 3, if I just want a RPG.

Which missions are those? Also, the RTS is much better in SH. RPG parts are debatable at best where they are better.

I can still bum rush the maps with my heroes and take over the map 90% of the time with my hero team alone...

I just beat the last 3 RTS missions of soul harvest w/o building any units at all... Heroes are plenty strong still, they aren't the walking gods they were in the past, but they are still fully capable of decimating armies on their own...

I absolutely agree! The balance in the SP campaign is a horror! The developers are unable to get a reasonable balance in the RTS.
Just one example... I'm trying to destroy an outpost in the "Howling Steppes" with a whole army and the 4 heroes (in easy mode!!!), but it is IMPOSSIBLE to destroy it, because the repair is 5 times faster than you can do damage. So this outpost is indestructible!!!
Who developed or tested this crap?

I absolutely agree! The balance in the SP campaign is a horror! The developers are unable to get a reasonable balance in the RTS.

What are the specs of your team, levels and did you go straight for Howling or did you do Dwarves (and Dark Elves iirc) first?

I have completed the first dwarf mission and the dark elf RTS mission. The heroes are on L11. But now there is a new bug, none of my units want to attack automatically since the reload. No matter if I'm on defense or offensive! The whole game is a big pile of ♥♥♥♥ with bugs!

RTS and RPG is not a good mix, at least in this game.

First, i had wanted to take my time creating a good base, units, even if i hate RTS in general ( and this game make this feeling worst ). But i keept being harassed early/mid game ( and at the end, enemy base has no ressource so dont attack anymore ...) and i was annoyed by that.

So now, i just rush early RTS phases with heroes and use spell to destroy buildings.
And in 5 min, you won the RTS phase. Broken design.

Everything in the gameplay design in this game is broken, and i have to say, its really sad because, graphics are good, characters are ok, every discuss lines have voices witch is good, story is ok, music is nice but ... Damn they just should make a pure RPG game with good mechanics related to it...

These devs should get some sense of shame and go play SF1 and 2 to see how to make a good game. It's obvious they never played the first games. Even after years of patches, the game is broken when the AI has infinite resources and instant troop spawning.

I agree the AI in RTS part is stupidly overpowered with infinite ressources and virtually no train times, but it's doable in Circle Mage, and it's WAY, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than OG SF3.

And with the right "class", heroes can still hold their own in RTS mode, and yes again, in circle mage. But granted, you almost need to have either demonology (Blood Rain + Leech) or Druidism (Bear or even better, Demon Shapes)
