Now I'm a super newbie at the lore. But I was under the impression that Spellforce 3 is like a prequel to the first game. And in the first game--Taher isn't really mentioned, and/or is dead.

So logically, it makes sense for them to vanquish that character sometime before the events of Spellforce 1.

yes, but it doesn't mean "hes dead because plot" is a good idea

There's a reason why Tahar died, has to do with the main story - keep playing at it'll be revealed.

thats a little better... but the most powerful mage in history still shouldn't be dead esp because you friggin played as him in game 1 and its just wam bam over.

oh well,

don't forget there's magic in Eo. We might see him again.

However, one of the reasons of his 'disappearence' is the peculiarity of SF campaigns. Hell, we don't even know what gender he/she was canonically.

No where is it said that he's the most powerful mage in history. He was certainly above average, but nothing close to what the circle would become later.

Also, he had some of the allfire in him because his mother was a shaper, but he didn't know how to use that power.

Tahar and daenerys had similar deaths aka ♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing. rip
Given what will happen between spellforce 3 and spellforce 1.
There will be alot more dead people soon.
Tahar never struck me as powerful.
Above avarge sure.
But powerful like the circle? The rune warriors? The Shaikan?
I consider the spellforce 3 heroes weak compaire to the other games.
But understable so as your charaters are just mere humans(or half human in tahar case)
And a single well placed arrow can kill a human.
And i dont know how much gamelay and story seperation the godstones are.

I hope not...this is suposed to be the story about how the circle began... not its downfall.... if you remember the in game story conversations about the downfall era it was absolutely epic..... world shattering stuff, that would be incredibly hard to get into a game... plus we only JUST started to get our hands on these characters that we love from the lore/ first game.... they need to give us time / games to actually play with them before they start killing them off.... tahar dead ok ill accept that, but if they start killing off circle mages anytime soon I'm going to be really upset and THQ NORDIC.

I dont think we will see the downfall.
Just the rise to power before the become evil, twisted powerhungery madman who destroy there world in there pathatic claim to goodhood.
It is very hard to kill a being infused by archfire if i recall correct.

I'm gonna necro this thread to say that I am also pissed that they killed Tahar. My Tahar demolishes an entire army by himself and to have him killed just like that does not sit well with me. It would have been better if he "disappeared"
