Unplayable crashing

I bought this pretty much right when it came out but am just getting to playing it. Problem is I got just a little way in to the first point where i can control troops, and EVERYTHING crashed. Not the game, not something in the background. My pc itself just shut down and rebooted. WTH is going on? My pc runs just about anything without issue, and all my other stuff works fine when i launch it. Only this causes the suddenly PC crash. No warning just a black screen dead computer and then reboot.
Any solutions out there?

Software rarely shuts down the PC completely and it'll have to be extremely bugged in that manner. I suspect it may have something to do with your hardware instead.

What are your specs and what other games have you been running?

I'm not as intimately knowledgeable abnout my pc as I should be, but I run with a 1080gtx and intel i7-3770. I have never had a game cause this pc to crash before. I have never had this pc so outrightly crash before. I run world of warcraft at max, fallout and skyrim with extensive graphical upgrade mods at max, and many many more games. All max graphics. I get the occasional lag if I have extra stuff open but generally speaking I run things fine even with spotify and firefox up.
As I said this is the only thing I have ever had cause this issue, and my pc is by no means hot at the moment, so it's not overheating. I have had issue before with Disc reaching 100% due to superfetch and the like, but that is an extremely rare event and even then things stil run. not even games or programs have crashed on me before, let alone the entire pc.
