Sadly Shaikan (my favorite faction) get treated like dirt in this entry. Also they don't even understand how shaikan work. For example you get the Steam-Achivment "Shaikan" for killing a dragon adn not helping him in the base game.
But that's just one of many many lore flaws with the SF3-Series. I could do a whole list, but thats already written all over the place here by now.
I think it's both. You can understand those changes as a retcon, or as an in-universe difference between different eras. Didn't the Dark Elves have only 3 castes in older games? Now they have more. and they are called differently
We have a winner! But hey, since they introduced this parallel universe thing everything is just a "different timeline" now and what ever doesn't fit is just a Spin-Off now.
I say the new story writer(s) got their talent from fanfiction.org .
Yes i know i sound salty, but it's just painfull to experience all these horrible plotholes, lore-breakes and francise--machup's in the SF3-Series. All that would have been solved by just playing the old games for once complete and taking notes.
But when i take a look of the MP part, then i know they were busy playing Starcraft.
