shaikan mentionig
So I Just finished the game and I have to Say bugs and some poor plot choices aside i really appreciated it. I was Wondering though. What is the Deal with the shaikans. If I recall correctly they were pretty active even 500 hundred year before the convocation and still they are never mentioned in the game . Do you think that they will be me mentioned in future games/expansions?

Because they're not a big faction worth mentioning. + a lot of people used to dislike them.

Wait a sec though. I can agree that some people dont like them (personally i am indiferent to them ) but the hybernian empire is mentioned a lot in the game and when you talk about hybernians you have to talk about malacay. I mean the guy was so dangerous that the gods had to come and stop him

Sadly Shaikan (my favorite faction) get treated like dirt in this entry. Also they don't even understand how shaikan work. For example you get the Steam-Achivment "Shaikan" for killing a dragon adn not helping him in the base game.

But that's just one of many many lore flaws with the SF3-Series. I could do a whole list, but thats already written all over the place here by now.

that one thing is understandable, it's a big world and they were not a major faction back then, but the Dark Elves are never called Norcaine too, if I'm not mistaken.

yeah but then again at least malacay their creator should be mentioned. as i said the guy was a prety big deal. as for the dark elves i noticed that their culture in general seems to be completely different from that of the first games. i think that in the next 500 years something will happen to radicaly change their way of living. or maybe the devs just forgot to actually play the previous games

I think it's both. You can understand those changes as a retcon, or as an in-universe difference between different eras. Didn't the Dark Elves have only 3 castes in older games? Now they have more. and they are called differently

We have a winner! But hey, since they introduced this parallel universe thing everything is just a "different timeline" now and what ever doesn't fit is just a Spin-Off now.

I say the new story writer(s) got their talent from fanfiction.org .
Yes i know i sound salty, but it's just painfull to experience all these horrible plotholes, lore-breakes and francise--machup's in the SF3-Series. All that would have been solved by just playing the old games for once complete and taking notes.

But when i take a look of the MP part, then i know they were busy playing Starcraft.

if they really will say that the things we saw in the previous games just happened in the alternate realites i am done with spellforce. different reality explanation is one of the weakest and laziest explanations that you can give to explain the plot of a game movie or everything in general

yeah . plus the figure of the exalted father was never mentioned before. at the begining the norcaine were ruled by the fial darg. then by the council of dracon sinistrim and archons. the only explanation is that the reign of the exalted father was rather short so history forgot it. or again maybe the devs do not know the lore of the game. or maybe this is just an alternate reality (god i hope this is not the case otherwise it would be just stupid)

Well, alternate reality would make sense if you consider the ending of SF1 basegame, hooowever it would still be quite the stretch. I trust in the devs of the game that they still throw something totally awesome at us.

They won't, all the events in the spellforce series are part of the same reality. Otherwise, there would be no point in saving it during SH.

in that case i think it was more time travel shaenenigans rather than alternate reality. but i agree with you. so far even with some defects considered i still like sp 3 and soul harvest. so maybe the devs will surprise us in the future who knows
