Let's Find the Strongest Hero Skill Set: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
So with Spellforce, I have always been obsessed about being SO strong to literally be able to solo most, if not all of the content, at least on hard difficulty. Obviously, this can't happen all the time, but you get the idea - so gimme your insights on the strongest combination of skills + gear.

I finished the game recently, and I have found all the items/clues save from the bugged ones in Swamplands. I've also experimented with most builds using mercenaries and adding spells/synergies bearing in mind the main hero advantages (including potions of proficiency and the other one).

So what I came up with is the following:

Demonology/elementalism aura build:

-Demonic Strike - 3 pts
-Cursed Blade - 3 pts
-Eldrich aura - 3pts
-Elder demon summon - 3pts
-conflagration (ele) - 3 pts
-ice weapon aura - 3pts

synergy skills with combat arts for the bladestorm (I think its called) - 3 pts

rest goes wherever, to pave the path to those skills or whatever you like, I pref ele main stat for increased dmg. Also the spell that makes you immune and armored after you dropped to 33% hp is pretty neat too.

the stats:

Cons - 10
Willpower - 10
Strength - 8
Dex - 3

Items and stats can pump Strength so you get even more dmg.

This way you have 3 auras up (with around 60 focus pool) and the rest of the abilities cost life so you can spam those. You get lifesteal from the combat arts synergy spell, aoe dmg + bleeding, silencing strike, true damage, and tons of weakened enemies. My mercenary didn't seem to even take dmg even after and you have the big bad demon boy with you to tank and do tons of dmg as well. Also, a little trick I've found, not sure if its a bug, but when you press the sacrifice skill that has to kill a friendly unit to restore hp and you only have your elder demon near you, the skills goes off, restores hp, but the demon doesn't die. It has "cannot be killed instantly" maybe that's the trick.

So armor and weapons:

Dragonscale armor and helmet (or Goplit's pride helm you get from quest reward)
Dragonid greatsword, although dual wielded legendary mace (from windholme quest) and a a legendary one hand axe you can buy in Cahlabrok once you have the trading ring are fine too.
the legendary necklace you can buy in Greykeep that gives +1 to all stats.
ring of focus/str/willpower
the memento ring with +15% ability dmg
Cannot be silenced trinket you get from main mission rewards (although there has to be something better)

So overall, you don't have to worry about focus, you can spam your abilities, heal without losing your demon, deal aoe dmg to everything, weaken and silence them, and ultimately tear them apart with tons of defence.

sorry for the long post :P

looking forward to other suggestions!

Just go for light + combat and exorcise everything.
moysha 13. Juni 2019 um 10:55
druid/beguiler + tribe eater synergy.
chorts of thunder + attack aura.

10 con, the rest of the stats don't matter.

transform, pop up auras and enjoy the slaughter. 1,3k + 300 raw damage each attack, 1.1k chorts of thunder aoe every 2 seconds.

can solo everything even on CM.

Demonology/Combat Arts

More an auto attacking build thats stacks passives and only uses few active skills. Very high damage, crit chance and survivability. Can also utilize the demon + sacrifice trick (but thats not neccessary on everything below Circle Mage difficulty)

Combat Arts:
- important: Close Combat (passive), Pressure Points (passive), Vicious Blows (passive), Battle Fervor (passive)
- optional: Cleave (passive), Massacre (passive), Enduring Charge (aura), Whirlwind (active)

Demonology:
- important: Defy Fate (passive), Eldritch Halo (aura), Demonic Strike (active)
- optional: Demonology (passive), Demonic Pact (passive), Cursed Blade (active)

Stats:
- Strength = max, Constitution: 9-max , leftover points into Willpower (magic defense, stronger auras) or Dexterity (crit/block chance)

Weapon:
- default: Cursed Great Mace (highest melee damage, magic damage type, +50% damage vs. Living and Golems, Weaken on hit)
- buildings: The Demolisher (+100% damage vs. Buildings)

No Focus Variant:
- Queens Guard Plate (affliction immunity, Focus set to 0)
- Firstborn's Helm (+30% damage, -50% focus) or Heavy Berserker Helmet (+30% movement, +42% attack speed when below 40% health)

Activate your auras then equip these items (having zero focus doesn't deactivate your auras). Use your health to cast spells/attacks.

Focus Variant:
- Dragonscale Armor (+10 health regen)
- Heavy Berserker Helmet (+30% movement, +42% attack speed when below 40% health)

Both variants are build around keeping your hero at 33% health. Defy Fate keeps you in this state. This also triggers Battle Fervor (as you are below 50% health) and Heavy Berserker Helmet (as you are also below 40% health).

Battle Fervor is really good as it gives +25% crit chance, although the focus generation is only useful on the Focus Variant (same for Massacre and Battlemage passives ... see below).

For the Empyrian Artifact go for the Necklace (for the +10 defense) or the Ring (+15% damage, +10% crit chance).

Third Synergy:
- Necromancy: Summon Corpse Golem (active) can also be cast from health
- Hunting: Desecration (passive) gives more ailments on hit
- Elementalism: Battlemage (passive) gives additional Intelligence scaling to weapon based skills and generates focus on hit
- Defense: Riposte (passive) gives extra crit chance after block, but your block is not really high

Best is Necromancy or Hunting, but Elementalism can also work for the Focus Variant that wants to use Whirlwind.
For druidism: How long do the transforms last?

thanks for the ideas guys, I recently started a new run where I tried to combine both ideas mentioned. Seems to work pretty well, however, the transformation is so strong, its ridiculous and boring :(

the attack speed idea is neat with strong weapons is neat!

I went with Demo/druidism for the defence boosts and nature vines aura, together with chords of thunder gives incredible aoe + never die skills from demo, AND the great cursed mace for AA, it does incredible dmg, try that out.

Anyone tried a good mage/warrior build? There is this item "consuming greatsword" which gives +80-100% dmg on your next ability after you crit in melee, seems very promissing, but can't find a usable combo for this. Thoughts?

For some kind of Battlemage build i would go for

Druidism + Demonology (get Elementalism as third)
- main focus on Intelligence + Willpower, secondary: Constitution (until you get good mage armor), Strength (if you want to use a shield)
- tankiness thanks to the defense skills in Druidism and Demonology
- using the sacrifice-like synergy skill "Oblation" (from Demonology+Elementalism) on your unkillable demon lets you get infinite focus and also gives a -25% ability cost/cooldown buff.
- you stack ability cost reduction: -20% (empyrian artifact ring) -30% (druidism skill) -20% (nature/demonic amulet) -25% (Oblation buff) = -95%
- you stack ability cooldown reduction: -20% (empyrian artifact ring) -20% (nature/demonic amulet) -25% (Oblastion buff) = -65%
- there is also an artifact armor with -25% cost/cooldown for -100% cost -90% cooldown, but you lose some tankiness
- then just spam your spells - both Druidism and Demonology have some good ones like Chainlightning
- the synergy skill "Meteor Shower" (from Druidism+Elementalism) sounds also good, but I haven't tested it (get the ring that gives Fire Might if you want to use it)
- having that much ability cost reduction also lets you use auras without focus problems
- equipment: there are some swords/daggers that use intelligence as attribute, there is also an armor with defenses at 50 that uses Mage stats, so in theory you can go all out intelligence/willpower after getting them

sorry no real use for the "consuming greatsword" in this build

edit:
The "consuming greatsword" can be good if you have the Beguilement + Hunting synergy skill "Call to Arms". That skill gives with maxed willpower and/or some power multiplier buffs +100% crit chance to everyone around the caster.

Ok I think I've found a worthy combo.

So you go demo + light magic, int+willpower max + cons.

You take the left side of the demo tree with the int spells (the last one actually does around 1.5 dmg in a cone in front of you with 4 sec CD, which is pretty nuts), and also defy fate. Since everything you do is pretty much raw dmg, you don't even need the eldrich halo.

from light, you max the shield ability (AOE healing can also be useful sometimes), useful to help you set up.

Synergy tree - defense. You get the avatar ability which renders you immune to dmg for 16 secs, and also a shockwave cone that stuns enemies.

So you basically throw on your sheld, go in, stun everything, use the demo abilities until the defy fate procs. Once it does, you active the avatar, which heals you back to full and you have 16 secs to destroy whatever is there. If you really need, you can also take demo + light magic synergy spell too, which is a boon for 30 secs you cast on yourself, and when you die, it does dmg to enemies and reviews you, or the demo ability that sacrifices something nearby for HP.

I tried this (although with a mercenary, who didn't have some of the stuff I mentioned) but I used a healer companion just for the shield, worked well). Was able to pretty much solo an entire army, including a titan in the mix.

for items you just take melee int swords (there is two, the legendary one and you can get one from main quest rewards). You don't really need two swords, they just look pretty with the rest of the armor :P
Archon's armor
the legendary +1 to all neck
the memento ring for ability dmg and CDR
pretty much any mage-ish headpiece (I found that the light assault helm is actually useful since it gives +25% ability dmg while you're above 90% hp, and since you get immune to dmg for 16 secs, this seems to work).
Cannot be silenced charm is also worth it I think (main quest reward).

Sadly, no way to fit in consuming greatsword, but still pretty solid.
There isn't any discussion needed on this topic.
The most powerful combo is Druidism + Evocation (add demo synergy for stupid levels of power). Maxing out Master the Arcane (last skill in Evocation) and equipping some -% cooldown means you can recast MtA before the effect runs out. Since MtA is affected by MtA (which is so incredibly dumb) you can effectively stack MtA boons for % increased spell effect.
What you need to do for basically unlimited power is:

1 - Put your points in str (for MtA), willpower(for cat/bear shapeshifts) or constitution (for tribe-eater).
2 - Max out MtA (can be done at lvl15), and whatever shapeshift you want (bear at lvl14, cat at lvl13, tribe-eater whenever you finish the vengeful spirits quest).
3 - Get some -% ability cooldowns (the Memento ring is a good example)
4 - Cast MtA. Before the effect is over, recast MtA. Repeat for as long as you like; every cast will increase the potency of the +% ability power boon.
5 - When ready, cast the desired shapeshift spell before the boon expires. Tadaa.
(Optional) - To make it all go faster, add what you can for -% ability cooldown and +%ability power. The Light assault helmet adds a bit of power, the memento ring adds both power and cooldown reduction. There are several pieces of armor and amulets that will reduce cooldowns as well. You can also spend the rest of your talent points in cooldown reduction and +%ability power (both are in the evocation tree).

Doing this, I ended up with a Tribe-eater with 220,000 HP, 114k raw damage per hit, and an aura dealing 2k raw damage per tick to anyone in the vicinity.

I don't think any other combination can match that level of power, AoE or single target. If you want a tank, try the same with a bear. You get some pretty decent tankiness.

It should be noted that the game loses all of its charm if you do this, since nothing can challenge you in any way and the entire campaign turns into a stompfest even on CM difficulty.
