This game runs, and it was a good game in the past,
I still think it's a good game, so I can't bring myself to hate it.

I will warn you, that I found that some parts have some sluggish loading when in store's or hiring new personel.

But overall no other bugs to be found for now.
I hope they bring the rest of these kinds of games out.
Or even make a new sea dogs, would be really awesome,
Well I can only hope, they don't make pirate games like they used too.

Great old game. Just how i remember it. I wish they would make game like this with new technology that we have now

I absolutely love this game!

Everybody says its not the best title in the Sea Dogs series. That may be true, but you can find mods online that fix most of the problems that plagued this game. It was the first "open world" pirate game I ever played and I still play it from time to time. It still impresses and holds up well for a game from 2006 (back then it was known as Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales), and I'm glad to finally see it here on Steam. However, I decided to refund and wait for a sale. The reason being that I downloaded the new Supermod 5.0, which is a standalone package that includes the full game updated to a new engine. Right now, I can't see any reason in having two copies of the game on my harddrive when the non-Steam version is superior.

So much better and so much more polished than the original, but in my eyes Caribbean Tales suffers from the same core flaws: it's boring, slow, tedious, it does not give any clues as to what you're supposed to do or how, or where to start looking. Whenever you decide to go someplace, it's literally minutes before you arrive there. The zoomed out Caribbean map and the tiny ships in it (one of which is yours) are beautifully made, but looking at that tiny ship crawl at a snail's speed through endless water for minutes on end can drive a person nuts. And there's gonna be lots of that because most of the missions I've seen consist of either escorting some ship over the Caribbean or playing taxi transporting fugitives, crooks and the like to some far away island. While doing that I often got chased by pirates who I always tried to dodge because naval combat is janky at best, not to mention slow and tedious. It's not as terrible as Sea Dogs 1, but there's lots of room for improvement. When I summed all these things up I understood what this game was - a chore with no end in sight. I might as well go do my dishes instead.

a nice game, good game play. i really enjoyed it. I cannot confirm the bug reports. The game was stable at all times.

I like the freedom to just do what ever you like in the game as far as pirating/trading/missions. And the open world aspect and the way you can capture ships to upgrade/sell or add to your own fleet.

Game has some issues. I still love playing it. Can have some gamebreaking moments, mostly crashes.

Still got it. That charm. It is , rather was a good game. A very hard game to precise it - when you choose to sail in a real-time ship speed mode. The beginnings are also hard as you have to spend at least a dozen of hours to finally obtain a better ship of class, and earn good amount of $$ to maintain your crew, food, upgrade/repair ship and all of that. Fun begins when you reach at least 4th class ship with more than 16 cannons.
The amount of ships , plus the realistic sailing mode and different factions to play are good enough to rate up the game even if it is old. 10 years back it used to be 'golden' game, however it is better than original Sea Dogs to these days and still has that charming vibe.
