I think after years of Steam, I got sloppy and lost my copy of Pirates of the Caribbean. I recall modding that game ad infinitum until it was "true" Sea Dogs II... and frigging amazing. Is my memory exaggerating on me when I seem to recall 20 to 30 or more mods all packed up?

Anyway, anyone have advice as to how I can recreate that experience? Because its been 10-15 years and pirate games since are just letting me down.

Do any of these on Steam compare to that modded Sea Dogs II / PotC ?

I wonder how much of the POTC game Disney actually owns, maybe they could remove the POTC title and the black pearl and just release it as Sea Dogs II?
In the end there was very little of POTC in that game, I'd actually prefer to see it released clean as Sea Dogs II.

Sea Dogs 2 renames Pirates Of The Caribbean to coincide with the release of the movie was a great game but full of bugs but the Pirates Ahoy web site made a great Mod called New Horizons that fixed all the bugs and made it into a fantastic game https://www.piratesahoy.net/
