Not buying this year.
I am a big fan of this series but I just can't get myself to pull the trigger on buying. No new features, no new signifigant gameplay mechanics, inferior legends roster. I'll be waiting until a major sale.

I love it when people make these posts, thinkin 2K is just sobbing in their seats reading them. (they don't even see any of these)

I think it's a pretty big improvement in just performance alone however I'll agree with the legends I was pretty disapointed when I saw there's no Cactus Jack or Regal and the DLC is pretty bad as well.

I mean all he did is point out the reasons as to why he won't be buying it? It isn't really a hate post, it just comes down to whether or not you care about his opinion.

The legends roster does dissapoint, but to be fair I am enjoying the game so much and compared to last year the performance of the game on my PC is amazing.

I understand there are performance improvements and striking has been improved a bit, but I don't see that as enough for full price.

You're completley right as it should run this well regardless, not take 5 games to get there. I would say waiting for a sale would be the best idea as I didn't pay full price either (GMG) but I can say it's an improvement over previous entries in my opinion.

The return of 2K Showcase is great, the MyCareer has improved SIGNIFICANTLY (Voice acting, cutscenes and a propper skill tree make it a hell of a lot more enjoyable to go through) and the challenge towers are fun. Along with the performance improvements, gameplay tweaks and the revamped cage match system (really needed it) I think it's got a pretty damn good ammount of new content compared to the last 2 years.

However, if you're not interested in Showcase or MyCareer, you can do with skipping this year. Those roster losses hurt.

I think a late purchase with DLC and some modding to bring characters over from last years game would make this a nearly perfect game.

I would disagree here. While there isn't a lot of real "new" stuff, the return of the showcase (it's a quite good one this year... sadly it's just only one...) and the in my opinion for the first time in the series really fun "My Career"-mode (even if it's actually more like a story mode, not really a career mode...) is more than the last few games had to offer. 2k16 was good, but only because 2k15 was that barebone back then. And from then on... every game was nearly the same. They cut something, they bring something back... they improve something and they change something for the worse. It's been that way since... forever and while we probably never get "that perfect game" we probably deserve, I feel, this year the pros outweight the cons (which are there, don't get me wrong) a bit more than in the last few years.
Poorest production quality yet. What a disappointing release.
I legitimately have no idea how this made it past any approvals from anyone. An absolute piece of garbage.

I wanted to get it but after seeing people playing it, i will easily pass until i can get the complete for very cheap which wont ever happen
per.kuskan Oct 9, 2018 @ 12:03am
how long have you played the game then?
Triple G Oct 9, 2018 @ 1:11am
I don't care about Showcase or challange towers. Those types of game modes don't last long and are usually instruction following simulators: "Press this button now, hit 3 finishers then teabag the Undertaker". Not my thing. I care about matches and roster.
