How do you win by KO?

The Legends tower ends with a 2 out of 3 falls, win by KO only, against Macho Man Randy Savage. If this were real life, both of us would have been dead. After 20-30 minutes I finally score the first one, falls 2 and 3 went to Randy, but this match went well past one hour. Is there something I am missing? Is it a simple beat down the opponent until the game gives a decision? It seems like it would have been easier ending the streak in the WWE 2K14.

I did that, multiple, multiple signatures and finishers.

I did the same thing, on legend difficulty, but my opponent won with his signature move, a thrust kick, after taking at least two german suplexes, which cost me the European title. (By the way, this was on Xbox One)

I wonder if crowd reaction has something to do with it? Like timing your big move at the height of their cheering.

Way back when on the ps1 playing smackdown 2 I had eye rake as a finisher and getting ko's all the time with that, I must put that to the test in this game
