the game is based on a "Fighting / Simulation" aspect with WWE Assets as Scenario.
the players skills and the Wrestlers attributes matter for the outcome of every match while in the TV Shows it's scripted and the outcome is based on a storyline created by some writers.
so with that in mind, the game can handle things different and it does already. restrictions such as "no blood for female superstars" are not what the game does in terms of "being a Wrestling Simulatior.
the game must offer things you can't do on TV live streaming based on it's mechanics or the game has to change into a all out "WWE Simulator" with scripted events only (such as the "Showcase Modes"), sounds boring, right?
I wouln't mind more freedom in my WWE Games and Female Superstars should of course bleed after multiple chair shots and strong attacks just like their male counterparts.
either restrict the "in-ring-action" female wrestlers can perform so the wouln't get hurt at all or stick to the "simulation / fighting game" mechanics with all possible outcomes.
I'm watching many different Wrestling shows (surprise, there is wrestling outside of WWE as well) and female wrestlers are mixed with men in matches, there is blood and everything just looks more like actual "competition" even with the scripts running in the back..
to be frank, I'm not bloodthirsty or want to see blood in all of my matches but what I want is the overall freedom I mentioned and no censorship for silly things like plastic females. always looking for the "perfect wrestling game" and WWE Games are the best looking ones. I wouldn't mind a little more "attitude area" and actual "realistic feedback" for the actions inside/outside the ring.
A number of non WWE related games do exist, however they are rather crude compared to the 2kWWE games, I am sure that several of them also gave made it clear no restrictions will exist in any gender or match type.
The problem is that this game is a WWE product, and as such now falls under the WWE restrictions, 2K may have the current license to make the games but at the end of the day the WWE says what can and can't be in the game. I am glad that with the Women's revolution as they are calling it we have gained the ability to have Female Superstars in more match types.
back in Attitude we had Luna Vachon, Lita and to a lesser degree Trish Stratos( she could wrestle after the first year) Molly Holly and look how they were under used. Unless the womens Revolution gets mean and puts the women in harder matches I don't think we will ever see Female Superstars bleed.
I mean if you watch Total Bellas you get to see just how the womens matches are when Brie kicked Liv Morgan in the face, Brie was in tears backstage over it.
Just because it's a video game doesn't mean it automatically bypasses all the same rules. If it was comical or cartoon then they might have been able to get away with it, but going for a realistic art style might restrict things.
