Is it worth a buy today, after 2K20?

Considering the reviews, WWE 2K20 was a disaster.

So, if I want to play a wrestling game, is it better to go with 2K19?
Currently, the game and season pass is available for 75% off here in a local retailer.

Is it better now and have they patched the game or this one is a mess too?

Or is it even better to stay from wrestling games for now?

2K19 is not exactly perfect, but it's no where near as problematic as 2K20 is overall. 2K19 has its share of unpolished issues, but only about as much as we come to expect from 2K. It's still all-around playable, assuming you have the system for it, as opposed to some of 2K20's major features being held together by duct tape. If you're looking for a modern wrestling game, 2K19 is far and away the better value, especially with a nice discount price.

My biggest worries are about game crashes, corruption of save files and those kinds of severe bugs.

I'm ok with a tolerable level of bugs.

I think you do nothing really wrong with WWE 2k19.
I never had big problems with this game and when i compare it to wwe2k20.... then you should buy wwe 2k19.
Its not perfect ( hell, not at all! ) but its nice and with a 75% discount, i think you do nothing wrong.

right now it has more ppl playing it than 2K20 which is crazy, never seen anything like it when it comes to a yearly released game, shows you how bad 2K20 is

Has its issues definitely. However this is my first WWE game since 13. It is honestly spoiling me because it seems the consensus is that it was just a marginal improvement. So I dunno, I love it

Bought the game and in fact it it's a lot of fun!

I used to play it on PSOne and PS2, so I still have a lot to learn and figure out.

Although it's really cool how the mechanics changed but the game still familiar.
And I realized how I miss this franchise.

This one definintly not a mess, and I don't play 2K20 yet, but they did fix a lot. If you don't trust it, get this one.

"Fix a lot"...and deleted save files twice with their patches in 2k20. While most bugs and a lot of those claimed to be fixed are still there.

This one supports Win7 & Win8.1 while 2K20 is windows 10 only.
I'm old school in that i only play these types of games offline vs AI.

Thats normal, you wont get WWE 2k19 for sale anymore.
Everytime when a new game comes out, they stop putting the old one on sale.

If WWE 2K19 would be on sale again, i would buy it.
Especially because it is the last WWE 2K which is for Windows 7.
And for the Deluxe Edition, I really do not want to pay full price.

I ended up buying WWE 2K19 for 15% off on greenmangaming and a few DLCs for it that were 15% off as well.
I'm in same boat that i can't play 2k20 due to being on previous versions of Windows.

Years ago when i bought 2k16 it was on sale while 2k17 was out and came with all DLCs.

2K should just stick to making 1 game per 3 or 4 years and sell year 2 passes, year 3 passes like how Ubisoft does with their games. It allows for a stable game that gets roster updates, DLCs, improvements etc all in a 40$ year pass.

Devs get to focus more on content than fixing a broken game every year and players end up spending more money on the game as seen with rainbow 6 siege 4 years after its release in 2015. Not to mention its good for their reputation and keeps players loyal to spending money on in game things.

The current new game every year format is geting worse.

Yukes is out, that's why 2k20 is the kind of disaster it is. Devs with 0 real experience in making wrestling games are in charge of it now, and it showed in 20. Which still had Yukes work with them at the start. If they were to leave the stuff from Yukes completely, we'll probably get a super crappy game.
