Does anyone know when this will be back for sale?
And what the price might be?

It almost certainly won't be back on sale. Battlestations Midway is currently on sale for a euro. You can buy Battlestations Pacific on Humble Bundle. It comes as part of the "Battlestations Collection".

It's an averagely rated naval RTS/RTT game from 2007 with an entire segment of the game that's broken due to its core service being taken offline. At best they make pennies continuing to sell it and it's just not worth putting programmers on the project to keep it going.

I myself just bought BSP through the Humble Bundle collection, and at $11.99 USD this is basically as good as it's going to get for the moment.

I don't care about what some random paid reviewer says about the game this is Imo and many others opinion one of the best naval warfare games out there

I played this game for years back when it came out, I know it's a good game, but just because you and I think so does not make it a sound business investment. World works the way it works, not the way you'd like it to.
Even if i buy the game from Humble Bundle will it even work?
I can confirm that it still works fine on Windows 10. I haven't been able to play with friends on the computer, however, that may very well be due to me trying to see if we can play this game with a particular mod installed, so possibly if you try it without mods, it may work.

I can confirm that if you really want to play with friends and you and your friends all have an X-Box One, you can get Battle Stations Pacific on that and play with them there!

Besides that, this game is still quite good and fun playing against bots or playing the campaign, and there's at least one mod that I've used that I quite enjoy.

If by "work" do you mean "will it boot up and be playable", then yes. I booted it up and played a few missions. It's definitely a console game and not a particularly good port. But as King Moon Racer pointed out, I'm not sure if multiplayer is still a thing.
Are they working on updates or some kind of re-release or is that just a generic message they placed on the store page?

If you want the game, Humble Bundle has the Battlestations Collection which has both BSP and BSM, for $11.99. Even if you already have BSM, this is going to be the cheapest legitimate way to get BSP. BSP is available by itself on G2A, but the price is about $33 USD.
I already own the game I just want to know if it will come back with a patch or if a rerelease is being put together.
