You can actually try that, the game file gets overwritten by the mod. I had to download BSP aswell from Steam before installing the mod and I didn't had do install does weird xlive crap files to launch the game.

how did you play the mod without ctds? I ctd on the first ijn mission lol first when sinking a ss then when completing it on another run
