Game doesnt work with Windows 10

Just bought the game after playing the demo and the game just remains on the loading screen forever. It occasionally plays the intro video over and over but thats it. Never gets to the menu screen.

So, I have tried installing the Windows Live program - its never connects - and I have tried putting the xlive.dll into the main game folder. All to no avail.

I am now trying a reinstall of the game. If that doesn't work I am going for a refund. Too much hastle for an old £1.79 game.

There is no way I am doing the last stuff in that 'fix it' guide about uninstalling MS Net etc and then reinstalling it all in order. And I already have Xbox account because my kid uses the Xbox and that was an absolutely nightmare getting that sorted so there is no way I am reinstalling that either. If it doesnt work after the reinstall I will go play something else and get my refund for my £1.79 - if just to prevent the publisher from getting my money for doing absolutely NOTHING to get this game to work.

You know what REALLY bugs me - the demo works perfectly! So how come the demo works perfectly on my computer with nothing done to it (no Win Live or anything required) - I get to the menu and everything straight away, and yet the main game doesn't work?

It's just really sloppy and the publisher wont make any money out of me by being sloppy. The idiots.

Well I tried everything and no luck at all so its a refund for this game. Wasted several hours today trying to get this to work.

That doesnt work I tried it. I dont get the GWL screen coming up when I start the game. Game just sits there doing nothing. Tried loads of different things and couldnt get it working. Gave up in the end and got a refund.

Did you set the game into compatibility mode? run both exe in admin? the game runs fine for me on windows 10 I have it set for compat with Windows 7 running steam as admin and both exes

Also if that doesnt work try verifying your game cache through steam and if it still doesnt work you can try launching the program as a non steam game just set it to such through steam.

I tried all of the above excapt the last thing you mentioned, none of it worked. But I dont have the game now anyway I got a refund.

OK I fixed the game, now game for windows live works within the game. all i did was to download and install the xlive Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable found here.

you can uninstall Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace it still will not work after this but you no not need it. keep the Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable that steam has install and just install the one you just downloaded form the url above on top of the steam one. then start the game and windows live should now start .

If this still does not work, then try copying the files: xlive.dll xlive.dll.cat xlivefnt.dll xliveinstallhost.exe found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 to C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Let me know if theis works as I might be still interested in getting the game if it can actually be made to work with Win 10 using the above which is different to the way I tried. I am presently on the fence about whether its worth the hastle though and chances are it will be out of the sale anyway by then lol. Edit - forget it just realised it is out of the sale already!

Reinstall it with the firewall off.
It works once you do that.
