Best way to get the Banner Saga (Bolverk) achievement?

Been having difficulty getting this one. It's during the Tainted Pit level and it's hard to tell when Bolverk kills an enemy or whether one of my ranged towers did, plus I couldn't find a way to track this achievement's progress.

Do I just keep grinding or is there a better way to get this achievement?

I just did the level a few times with him at the front of a barracks.

Do you mind if you go into more detail? Such as the regular level, heroic, or iron mode? Which hero to use and other stuff?

Set it to easy, put him at the very start of the level and just start the game :D

I found that after the first wave, he doesn't do too well on his own so it's better to just restart and farm that first wave.

I dont remember those challenges anymore, but this is more of a grind achievement than than a skill. Try to use him against weakest foes. Back him up with forest keepers with heals.

You can also go to C:\Users\[your account name]\AppData\Roaming\kingdom_rush_origins\slot_x.lua(open in a text editor) and there is a counter under "KILL_BOLJARK" so you can see the amount of kills you've got.
