If I decide to try raising armadillos again, I'll see if I can test this; even if it's a bug, you may have found a workaround. If you keep having success this way, would appreciate hearing back from you.
They're at the starter area and we're building in a tree near the first village, if that gives you an idea on proximity. Sometimes we also take trips to the drug lab to get bamboo.
When I attempted to raise armadillos, I did so w/ one pair each of nine-banded & Giant. I had one successful birth w/ the Giants, but when I began releasing the adult males of both, my "junior" Giant cub despawned & my female bander was suddenly no longer pregnant. At that point, I decided to stop, as it wasn't something I had planned to do long term, anyway.
I'm playing SoA, so if I attempt to raise them again, it will be on the part 1 map. That probably shouldn't make a difference, but you never know. -.-
I have 2 animals in there, Dillo and Dilla.
