Building Balcony issue
I was building a balcony on my tree house, and one of the first issues I have is trying to place the building materials. The logs you have to try and place while dropping, he long sticks you can drop onto the log to do it, but then have to drop to the ground (which of course caused injuries). But now I'm having a problem placing the long stick that butts up to the walls. It wont let me place it on 2 of the balconies, but I've been able to place it on 3 others with no issue. I even tried to exit the game and go back in hoping it would correct itself, but that didnt help either. I didnt want to dismantle it, only because of how much of an issue it was to place the logs as it was.

Have you added the climbing place this adds climbing rope?
We can carry as many materials as we can while climbing.

I do, but that is on the tree next to where I'm building, and it is the balconies on the other side of my tree house that's the problem.

When I built balconies on a treehouse, I had to walk out on the long sticks (at the top of the unfinished balcony) to place the ropes out at the ends; I couldn't get a hitbox any other way.

Hoping they address this. -.-

That is one of the issues I've had as well, but I also was having an issue adding the long stick to the part that actually butts up against the wall it is attached to.

Is the wall itself blocking you? You could try removing one, & see if it works then (save your game first ^^). I've been trying to remember how I did it myself, but no joy.

I wouldnt be able to remove the wall that is blocking it, as it is the wall that the balcony is attached to. Easist way I can describe it. standing above the balcony, on the second floor floor, look down to the balcony that is right below me, and it is the long stick that lays right against the wall the balcony is attached to. Next time i'm on if it is still doing it, I'll get a screen shot and post it.

A screenshot would be helpful; I'm pretty sure I know what stick you're referring to, but seeing it would confirm that (or not ^^). :cozyspaceengineersc: Just to note, balconies attach to frames, not walls, so removing the wall shouldn't affect it.

Ok here is the spot where I was having issues.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2947146510

I found if I got rid of the floor for the second floor of I was able to add it. As for it not needing the walls, I couldnt build the balcony till i had put the walls, at least it didnt work for me anyway.

The weird part was that I had already built several of the balconies with no issues till the last 2 I was working on.

Thanks for posting your solution, starlight. :cozyspaceengineersc: Glad you found a way to make it work; seems like the devs still have some work to do on this update.

Hi guys!
Thanks for your reports. We will investigate triggers for adding materials to balconies.
In the meantime I can advise that it's easier to build a balcony from underneath. It's the easiest when there are no walls, but even when you have a wall built, you still should be able to add long sticks and ropes to the balcony. If you have only partially complted wall, you should still be able to add logs through that wall without the risk of falling down.

With it being added to a tree house, you cant reach from below.

I'm having this same problem and I'm building it from underneath, since my balcony is attached to a platform on the floor. Still can't add the long stick to that same place.
