These dart frogs are a left over from the Story.
Now we have centipedesas added in as well from SOA.
Its not game breaking to me just keeps me on my toes.
Reminding me this is the jungle with lots of critters that can kill us when we dont pay attention. Adding Goliath spider rattle snakes Caimon puma stingray acorpions piranah. Oh yeah :)
As Jaunitta says, you need to stay conscious of their presence if you're living around them. In new areas, have a good look around to ascertain if they're present or not.
Incidentally, if you treat the wound/fever promptly, they won't kill you.
Its survival so yea noobs with pain will learn on thier mistikate xDDDDDD
How do you guys have x-ray vision that lets you see every single piece of stick that you've cut down from a tree in dense jungle? Honestly this isn't too much of an issue for me anymore since I've started using the crafting-carry exploit, but still this is immersion-breaking for a game that stresses realism.
I mean, a stick doesn't really look like a frog. At least, not to me.
No, but the frogs can "insert" themselves in the split second between registering the stick & clicking on it. I still get zapped by them this way sometimes, & I have many hours in this game. All it takes is letting your mind wander for half a second, coupled w/ bad luck.
You have to slow down. You have to use your ears. Observe your environment carefully, know what things are. You need to know what species of plants are, the behavior and benefits / risks of everything around you.
You have to clear bushes and see what is around. Hear croaking? Kill poison frogs first with a spear and pick up things without obstruction or use the crafting or tab inventory screen.
...put a pot/shell on the fire, cook water, add tabacco leaves to it.
And now all of a sudden frogs aren't bad anymore.
