Can I Play This Alone?
Is it fun to play this game alone or do I need friends?

Friends adds a lot of interactivity and fun, halves the work but can also have its pitfalls as friends tend to wander away and do other things. Playing with friends you need team work.
I love playing alone in my coop game and can swap it for either.

I play this game almost exclusively alone.
Yes. It is true to a single player game.

It has Co-op only up to 4 players due to, the :tcry: about playing with friends, threats of no co-op; no buy and other crap like that.

As for playing SP, there will be some things/items that you can only find in the story mode or, other types modes. Access to some locations will not be available, either. Ar least for me, they're not.

If you're just wanting some casual game play, like I do then, it's all good. I keep myself busy enough. There are also some items in the settings you can set to keep in the game or, remove them. Some things are coded in and cannot be removed.

I have only ever played alone, and honestly I love it.
Playing alone can be sometimes overwhelming if you're building a big base, keep the animals and such. However its much more immersive because you're always on your own. A true survival experience. Playing with friends is always for fun and goofy stuff :)
Unfortunately, after you finish the story mode on your own, you'll need to buy the multiplayer expansion and pay a monthly subscription /s

He's being sarcastic. that "/s" in the end of his message means sarcasm.
Oh alright, i thought it's some kind of weird smiley. My bad.
Actually, playing alone is the preferred experience. This is unless you want to have fun goofing around with friends or you are good a cooperating with others.
It started out as a single player game in the beginning but, there are whiners out there :tcry: about no co-op. You know the type, "No co-op, no buy" kind. While the devs started working on that end, it put them behind is fixing all the original content. Reason for me to have quit playing until just recently and I see they've taken some time to fix many of those issues.

EDIT: Well, back to the same issues as before; placing frames is not working as intended.
