Sustaining Ant eating animals?

How to get enough ants/maggots/lava to sustain the three banded armadilo?
I can maximum find about 3 lavas and 2 maggots if im lucky.
When doing anthills i get constantly rashes when using torch and 50 ants does merely feed them for 8 hours

You can get maggots from harvesting rotten meat. You can get larva from rotten fruits, I believe. If you are wearing armor, I don't think the ants bite you. It's been a while, but I think you may be able to put dead spiders and centipedes, not 100% sure on that though.

Make a composter and put various biodegradable waste into it, which will decompose in 24 hours and you will get 6 packages of fertilizer, and by harvesting each package of fertilizer you will get 5 maggots.

Thats interesting. Thouight i think the armour does not make you immune to ants.

Your character reacts like ants are biting him, but you don't get rash.
