Terrible graphics and draw distance even though settings maxxed out?
Hi, I just got the game and was playing the tutorial and I noticed that the graphics were absolutely terrible even though I maxxed out all my settings. I have new drivers and perfectly capable hardware. The draw distance is horrible, seeing textures and shadows load in 10 feet away from me. I tried tinkering with the settings to no avail.

Anyone know how to fix this? I'm not one of those people who'll refuse to play a game if it doesnt look like a movie but, the draw distance and pixelated far-away objects is pretty un-ignorable to me.

Use the default settings.
FOV at 75.
This game will downscale your resolution at any FOV value beyond 80. It get's blurrier the higher you set it.
Maxing out setting can cause graphics problems.

this is straight up just a lie. the developers broke something and the game looks and runs like crap.
She don't lie. How disrespectful you are. The problem's on your end, not the game. My game looks fabulous. Sorry yours doesn't. Maybe you have system problems or, driver issues.
The game looks graphically good, but the draw distance is still noticable if you're outside of thick jungle areas. For example when approaching Anaconda Island the distance is low enough & the island long enough that one part of that island can be loaded in while the other half is not.
Some developers restrict the draw distance in their games due to, people still playing on low end systems. It's also the graphic cards in some cases. The game engine plays a part, as well. Rendering in some games have been limited on purpose. No matter the setup you have, high-end or, low, it puts everyone sort of on, an equal playing field. Dis it if you want to but, I watched a game being developed for 2 1/2 years on YT and the developer explain it as such.
The LOD is still disgusting and nothing I've found has fixed it. Amazing incompetence from the devs. Oh well. Uninstall, neg and refund.

Saves me a bit of money.

The thing is I'm seeing things pop in and out NOT at a distance, but on a table not 5 feet away. We're not talking "far away" more like arms length.

I see similar items doing this and when approaching my base, it builds itself until I get close enough to see the whole base. I also see floating plants and grasses a lot.

Same problem here
Back when i 1st got this game ran a amd fx 8350 black edition and evga 1070 ti and ran and look amazing.
Over the years seems too get worse with every hardware upgrade/ major patch.
Best it was for me was when i was running my 3700x and my 1070, then changed out my 1070 for 3070ti then the rendering circle started.
Also on the other side of the river can see the tree textures dancing, and now like a grainy haze when looking at storage boxes etc.
Know not only new hardware on my end over the years but lots of patches also.
Have made new saves even tried old ones and never modded the game.
Even with 5700x3d brand new nvme still get this once amazingly beautiful game looking like a pop up book.
i'm experiencing this exact issue where the things are popping in way to close to the character, shadows popping in an out just moving the character left and right, and things are very sparkling sharp yet blurry no matter what i try or change graphicly even reinstalled my gpu drivers thinking that was the issue when its not, i even changed settings in my gpu software in the hopes that was an issue. and nothing.
Hello. Please reach out to us at support@creepyjar.com with a copy of the affected save files and a Settings2.sav file from your systems, so we may assist you.

A Guide for Green Hell

If you encounter an issue with the game please read this guide. By following these instructions you may be able to resolve it yourself.

Additionally, for the FOV circle and the pop-ins, please be aware that Green Hell’s Level of Detail system is designed as part of our optimization process to balance visual quality with performance across a wide range of hardware. This system has been in place since the game's release, though individual perceptions of it may vary. It dynamically adjusts object detail based on distance to ensure smooth gameplay without overloading system resources. At this time, the LOD system functions as intended and is not planned for adjustment. However, we appreciate your feedback and will continue to monitor community discussions regarding visual optimizations.

I agree. Some of the visuals are a bit 'ugly' & quite distracting (immersion breaking) like objects/flora suddenly pop'n in and out & disappearing/appearing right in front of your eyes.... and all that can probably easily be improved/fixed by the devs.
(the ground-cover texture quality is very nice though, lol, well done with that).

I wish the devs would update all that object draw distance for our modern hardware.
In-game shadow and object draw distance settings are at max, but that still doesn't do well. It's gotta get better than that.

Let the player decide if they'd rather have nicer visual quality over performance.
I'd rather have better visual quality(higher draw distance for shadows/objects) with a sacrifice of a little performance.
I'm quite certain that most modern graphic cards & processors (hardware) can handle it sufficiently.

This limited-quality-issue shouldn't be a problem anymore since there are high-end components that can handle the higher-quality detail draw distance and such.

It's just the right thing to do for a good game like this and for players that prefer it.

Keeping the game up-to-date with nicer render distance/quality simply keeps the game more alive and players immersed/engaged.

Come on devs, whuchya'll wait'n fo'? Just do it, PLEASE! :steamhappy:
