Especially if you intend to keep it the item long term. While they give permission sometimes usually they'll tell you that you just can not reproduce it or sell it.
legally even if it were a Pokemon, you just can't sell copyrighted things. The items shown are not copyrighted, or could be. The characters though probably can.
That looks great!
Kara Respectfully, copyright would not only apply to characters.
Objects are copyright as well. If you look in Creepy Jars EULA. Like I said they are pretty cool about things but its always good to ask before you recreate anything in a game.
III. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
1. Content of the GAME (including any parts of the GAME, among others – central figures of the GAME, objects and accessories of the GAME <==
, graphic images, photographs, animated films, video- animation, video clips, sound records, sound effects, the music, the textual game record, dialogues and other parts of the GAME software) is protected as the subject of the copyright as defined in applicable laws of the US and/or other countries. Usage of materials protected by law without consent of the COMPANY and in the way contrary to EULA results in breaking by the USER EULA conditions and is forbidden.
2. Through the account on the Steam platform the USER can inspect the content of the GAME and download and install The GAME exclusively in order to play the GAME.
3. By the installation of the GAME and playing the GAME the USER apart from obtaining the EULA from the COMPANY is acquiring no further rights to the intellectual property consisting the GAME and/or related with the GAME.
Thanks!
I understand the policy/rules/legality of selling/making of copyright items.
I would never sell this, it took great care & a long time to make, and it means more to me than money ever will. It'd be like selling my left arm or my liver or something.. NEVER gonna happen.
Hopefully Creepy Jar is all cool with it, I mean, they should be honored that I took the time and used "real life crafting skills" to make one of their video game items for personal keepsakes and to just share pics of it.
It'll NEVER leave my possession, that is unless Creepy Jar wants to buy it from me for $100,000 lololololol
I got the blessing from Creepy Jar first of course, to proceed. This game was the first game I was ever in involved in the early development of and I had intended to send them the build I made but it was going to cost way too much so the dev team and me had agreed it was best I keep it. Ive got a postcard from the Devs they all signed that I keep next to it. Having won some of the challenges.
As you can see here Dev Adam chimed in and said their team loved it. I love it myself I just wanted to make sure you knew that if you don't ask permission when making those inspired recreations before you make them its a violation of their EULA and the copyright agreement. So I encouraged you to ask them.
Since you did so good on the log sled you should ask if you can create other items to accompany it and showcase them here. I would love to see it if they grant you permission.
One reason this post caught my eye was that you're the only other person I know of yet, to do any inspired recreation of anything from Green Hell and showcase it.
So to that I say Cheers.
