Strategy for the dual tirbal axe Wahara?
Moved to the second map in Spirits of Amazonia, and on the way to the Cartel Farm encountered my first of the Wahara weilding dual axes, with the big stone mask. How... How are you supposed to fight them? You can't headshot them, because of the stone mask, and in the time you hit them with 2 arrows they have closed the distance. And they aren't staggered by the arrows like everyone else is, either. They can kill you in 2-3 hits.

How are you supposed to kill them? Do I have to build traps and bait them in? Can the Spear stagger them? Would the new Poison Darts work on them (probably not)?

Never did the SOA stuff, but are you wearing at least bone armor? Metal would be ideal.

You definitely should. Highly recommend. Except for rescuing the lost children... Super annoying.

Full set of Bone, although a couple of pieces are pretty old and definitely showing some wear and tear. Dry season just broke, so I'm going to be able to start working with Mud reliably at the Drug Farm (all rivers poisoned and unusable).

What worked for me, i use a spear. I get one or two hits in and then back off a bit so there is some distance between us. Don't turn your back on him that way he wont catch you off guard. Wait for him to charge and dodge it. Pressing the space bar and arrow direction key will make you dash away slightly.
Once he has charged and done his missed hit action, i run up behind or to the side of him and stab him 2-3 times before repeating the above process.

Fortunately, the Wahara Thug can bleed out just like anything else. Peppered him with a few arrows, ran far enough for him to drop aggro, but not far enough that he would despawn. Hung around the edge of the camp for a bit and he died on his own.

Wish he spawned in survival, just not interested in SOA at all.

SOA in my opinion is main game. Its the most time consuming and I love the open world element to it. Plus its really immersive and really helps you feel as though you are getting deeply in touch with the world around you.

I take the oppisite view. But I'm very attracted to endless game modes. The repetitive fetch quests, appeasing natives and having to hear Jake's voice again all deture me from SOA.
I think you would need metal weapon. Just shot him with few metal arrows, wait for him to bleed out.

They do, found them at the native camps of the newest SoA "Mooncave" map(you can use the area in survivalmode, but you won´t find the map itself).

Btt...
They are quite easy to fight, just make sure your have few meters between this npc and yourself, jump/run to site when he´s going to make his "running forward is all what i can do attack", move around and shot him with arrowS in the body, NOT! in the protected head(of course). And he´ll bleed out, just takes more arrows and more time than with the "normal" npcs but works easily, it´s more or less just a repeat of "hit and run" until he´s dead.

The real diffulculty is to kill the other npcs around him first, so you can focus on him, but that still works with headshots, or less arrows in their bodies. ;)

Bonearmor recommend, just to be prepared for getting eventually hitted, metalarrows/spears etc are definetly not needed.
