Disappearing armadillos, changing gender and food that lasts seconds

Me and a friend have been playing GH and have been trying to collect Armadillos to breed in the animal pens, but have had a few issues and it has me wondering if there is a "fix" or way to reduce the problems that we are having.

1. Last week we had 3 small armadillos tied up that suddenly wouldn't let us pick them up and all disappeared a few seconds later right in front of us. About 10 minutes after I caught a larger armadillo and carried it back to our camp at the DL in the 2nd area and placed it on the ground. Within seconds it just disappeared in front of us. Is there a way to stop them despawning like that?

2. This wasn't really a problem as such, but a quirk that we had. We had 3 armadillos in a pen and all were female. My friend checked them every time we fed them (checking trust levels) and after about 3 or 4 days one of the females was suddenly a male and one of the other females was now pregnant! I'm guessing this is a bug.

3. When it came to those 3 armadillos, we were regularly feeding them insects like grubs, larva, maggots, spiders and scorpions and filling their bowl to the max. However if you stayed looking at the bowl it would literally lose all of the food in about 20 seconds or so which meant we spent an insane amount of time running around focusing on finding food for them and not for us. Is there a reason for this? Like are animal pens only supposed to have 2 creatures in them at any one time? Is it another bug? Is there anyway to "fix" or lessen the impact of this?

Any help on these issues would be appreciated as we really do want to create a tiny armadillo army for..... *reasons* !!!
