How to destroy ant nests

I tried hitting it with a torch but no luck. I cant find much information online, but there was supposed to be a recent update where we could destroy them?

The ability was supposedly added w/ the "anteater update".

Maybe a silly question, OP, but did you try R clicking on it w/ the mouse?

Update: Tried that, it wasn't an option. When I tried to hit it w/ anything, I appeared to not actually be interacting w/ it. I tried just removing all the ants; got to 100+ w/ no result, other than making myself overweight. -.-

I've looked on Reddit, & found no answer there, either. I didn't pose it as a question, though; I guess I'll try that next. At this point, I just want my curiosity satisfied. >.<

Okay, so someone on Reddit came through for me. ^^ I was able to destroy it w/ a stone axe, but found I had to move around a bit & try hitting it from different positions to find the "sweet spot".

They also reported having success w/ a rusty axe & a bone knife, so I'm guessing anything of the like would work. The key seems to be hitting it from the right angle.

Obsidian knife did it. Took three hits. Two to make it a small nest, and one for it to disappear. I let the ants crawl on me for a few seconds then it let me keep hitting it.
