Only the thick bamboo that produces bamboo logs and the tall thin ones regrow... providing that you haven"t destroyed the stumps.

As far as I know, the small bamboo patches that have like 4 little bamboo trees close to each other will not.

We can grow our own bamboo. The long stick only. Grows 6
Larger planter box add one small bmboo stick only takes a few days. But I guess you need the logs.
I have one old csreenshot where you can see them on the left.
There is many regeons with bamboo forests over all the maps GH. If you have all the maps that is.

As Jaunitta said if you want unlimited long bamboo sticks you have to grow it yourself, bamboo logs do not convert to bamboo sticks, logs regrow after a few days as long as you don't break the stump, the long bamboo sticks are a 1 time use and don't ever come back. They drop 5 long sticks if you use a knife and 4 long sticks and 2 sticks of bamboo if you use an axe. If you plant 1 bamboo stick it will grow into 5 bamboo long sticks in the large planter, takes a couple days. I'm in the middle of building a rather large bamboo base at the fishing pier so we have cleaned out over half the bamboo sticks from across the water by day 50 and have been relying on 6 large planters growing bamboo for the last 50 days. The large logs across the water we have nearly completely cleaned out a couple of times and they always come back. In theory you can break every bamboo structure and harvest every bamboo stick plant and let them all despawn and you world will never have bamboo sticks every again. It would take some time...
