also if you are honestly expecting a serious answer from anyone on these forums after that first line then good luck
good luck to both this thread and to not dying due to low sanity
Regarding sanity though, I had the same issue and I completely agree with you. The mechanic is pretty ropey and too dependent on the same lines of dialogue. I know what you mean because I was in the same state for ages and it was preventing me from making any progress.
Do you have worms? Get some bones and craft bone needles, then remove the worms. Afterwards you can use bandages crafted from molineria leaves to seal the wound. Your sanity should shoot up very quickly after this.
I've got to say, I like the idea of sanity. I just wish the devs had tried something a bit different because the dialogue is really annoying. If they had creepy visual/audial hallucinations it would have been a lot more compelling.
The Forest uses the same game engine Unity as green Hell.
Gh focuses on macro nutrients the forest focus on fighting diseased mutants and opening a lot of suitcases..
Other than survival there is no comparison as I have played both in my opinion anyway.
Nuff said on that BS.
To prevent sanity insure you check your health bar regulary if you see the magnifying glass inspect body for leeches.
Leeches left on cause Infections and a bone needle and bandages required.
Wash hands before eating or you get parasites eat orange cap mushrooms or the blue mushrooms.
Build a small fire stand near it reduces it back to normal over time.
eat specific fruits like the soursop and sleep in short bursts
#1 eat cooked food. (i'm amazed at how many people just eat raw food all the time)
#2 some mushrooms can reduce it.
#3 resting by a fire helps
#4 sleep in a sheltered area and in some sort of bed.
#5 remove the leaches
#6 tend to wounds as soon as possible
As for being a rip-off of the Forest i don't see much similarity mostly just that they are both survival games, there are natives, there are special items you can collect and the building menu is a note book. if it is a rip-off Green Hell is a 8 out of 10 and the Forest a 5 because i don't even think the sanity system in it even works, its the easiest survival game ever because of some exploits/ bugs crafting medicine also doesn't seem to function, and the monsters are not scary or hard after you realize you can make armor out of them.
Anyway the topic was not "how to not go insane" but a serious question about is that the actual insanity mechanic that the sound is muffled as if your speakers are blown out and the same 3 voice lines repeat screaming in your head for the entire time?
That's a ridiculous, absolutely garbage mechanic that makes the game unplayable. No way is that intentional, it has to be a bug. NO ONE could play with that going non-stop.
I mean after all the hype that this blatant rip-off has gained, to have that happen literally an hour into playing the game is extremely disappointing.
Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you....
:)
After reading all chats on other forums you have posted I would say Your a well stressed.
If the game is not your cup of tea just stop playing and putting up troll posts.
I tryed Forest and most of my friends and its just not for us.
Isn `t choice a consumer right, we would rather run around in the jungle.
I would watch out if you don`t have alot of money you can get done for some of the statements your saying . " As a big fan of The Forest, I'm really liking this 100% shameless rip-off of it so far even though the developers should probably be sued."
Everyone needs to calm down a bit in this thread. I understand your point about insanity and agree, it's not executed particularly well at all. Like I said though, you just have to focus on getting the sanity back up to progress. Remove worms with bone needle, bandage with molineria leaves, you'll be back to normal soon enough.
You mean the tribes people? Well sure, but my point is there is so much unexplored potential with hallucinations in this game. They could have made it absolutely terrifying. In the end it's pretty trivial.
besides who is to say they wont do more with hallucinations in the future?
All of these things make the game infinitely more compelling.
moronic first statement you made
