Treehouse elevator won't work

Hi everyone, I am hoping I can get some advice on the transport elevator for my treehouse.

I have built it many different times and in slightly different ways and on more than one square and I have only managed to get it to work once, though I can't replicate that one anymore - as it wouldn't stop at the 1st floor of the treehouse, I demolished it and now when I build it, it doesn't work. I have checked the floor and I have checked for any pieces in it's way on the levels after I have demolished failed attempts. Each time, it has the option to press E - but it doesn't move and the option to select which level doesn't exist.

Anyone had any similar situations and solved it? I am getting quite frustrated and I am tempted to pack it in for now - but would like to give it one last go at trying to resolve.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

When you get the elevator symbol and arrows, use the right mouse button to bring up the floor number select.

Also if you are trying to ride the elevator I find its best to not stand in the middle as the middle is where you need to "aim" to get the elevator selection symbol. It works better if you stand closer to the edge and look towards the middle. ( if you are standing in the middle you may find the selection point by looking all around but i find its easier to stand on an end and then look towards the middle of the elevator ).

Unfortunately that is the problem, I can't use the right mouse button as it doesn't give me the option. So I can't move the elevator at all. :-(

Can you get the white elevator symbol and arrows to light up?

Where did you put the elevator? The treehouse has a frame when you start it. Did you build the frames on top of it and have the elevator going through the floor or on top of a platform hanging off the side so it doesn't go through the floor?

I've tried multiple attempts, all of which were using the balcony - from different heights/levels. The only one that worked was when I used the platform that rests on top of the frame rather than hanging from it. However, this one would not stop at the 1st level of the treehouse, just the jungle floor then the two higher levels and the 'roof' floor.

I will try again and see if I can get the symbol to light up, as I can't really remember.

Look below the elevator and make sure a tree or a plant hasn't started growing there. that may have blocked it.

Also build a 3 story platform on the ground and see if you can get one working off that. That way you know if the elevator is broken or just the treehouse one.

I managed to get it working after another few attempts, in a place I had tried and failed with before. But now I can't get the frames to all go on top and it crashed on me, so that's it for me for now. Shame, as it is actually one of my all time faves, but really pissing me off at the moment.

I gave it one more go, demolished a few frames and worked it so I could build the ones I wanted, where I wanted. Then the save somehow got corrupted and gave me massive FPS issues. A 're'save seems to have resolved the FPS issue, but now the placement of frames, roofs, walls etc is intermittent and, to top that all off, the elevator doesn't work again. Sooo frustrating.

Anyone else having these issues? Got any suggestions, other than start from the beginning again?!

try a new game and see if you have the same issues.

Also are you doing the main story or SoA story?
