Eternal Flame is totally worth it, here is some advice

I'm on wave 27, and this thing is already producing 7 melted iron a round on King of the Jungle difficulty. Early on it gives you a crap ton of arrowheads, and the native weaponry is plentiful so you hardly need to craft any weapons, but if you want to, it gives you obsidian, metal, that sort of thing. Getting your two handed and archery skill up prior to doing these waves is a godsend.

Get rid of the tobacco dressings, make ash dressings from the charcoal that the flame produces, keep the honey dressings.

Guaranteed coordinates to be able to build it; 36, 31.

Bring a big clay bowl if you do not want to spend 3 days angrily searching for bamboo

bring bones and plantain lily if you dont want to suffer from poison (Drink broth and lily brew)

Don't worry about poisoning during the waves, just wear armor and you will never need tobacco dressings

Eat fish more than the dozens of bones, don't waste so much time cooking for energy

make choke points, the enemies come from decently obvious spots and when you learn them, all you need to do is wait

save every single wave (If you're on Green Hell mode, you better make a lot more armor and dont let it dip below %50)

congrats, you now are loaded with iron, tribal axes, and if you're dedicated enough, have an awesome new War Club!

just a normal platform. But very interesting that there are no bees without it.
So you just hit and run, even the big dudes? or do you use traps/walls? any special tactic?
I don't fail because of dying, but because the natives extinguish the flame very quickly

I'm at level thirtysomething. I don't even use fortifications. I'm in the village at 48/34 which is on a plateau, only accessible by bridges. I wear full metal armour, keep a supply of more than 30 arrows and three spears, and as soon as the ritual starts I hoppity hop on the legend stone in the center and nail the gits as they cross the bridges. Spears are better than arrows against the thugs.

I made it to 50 today. It's a huge grind for sure. I had like 7-8 bow traps to support me.

Does each wave start after X amount of time or do you have to initiate each round? It’s all set up & ready to go, but I’m trying to figure out if I’ll have time to craft more armor between waves or repair structures if / when needed!

You start each wave by putting the bundle of herbs into the brazier. You can take your time replacing damaged weapons, disposing of corpses, patching yourself up, resting...

I'm also at 48/34 and have now built palisades around the rock on which the flame is standing. I've set up bow traps all around. The enemies just ran through the palisades as if they didn't exist. Annoying because all the building time was for nothing. I'm going to tear everything down and try it without anything.
