Eternal Flame is totally worth it, here is some advice
I'm on wave 27, and this thing is already producing 7 melted iron a round on King of the Jungle difficulty. Early on it gives you a crap ton of arrowheads, and the native weaponry is plentiful so you hardly need to craft any weapons, but if you want to, it gives you obsidian, metal, that sort of thing. Getting your two handed and archery skill up prior to doing these waves is a godsend.

Get rid of the tobacco dressings, make ash dressings from the charcoal that the flame produces, keep the honey dressings.

Guaranteed coordinates to be able to build it; 36, 31.

Bring a big clay bowl if you do not want to spend 3 days angrily searching for bamboo

bring bones and plantain lily if you dont want to suffer from poison (Drink broth and lily brew)

Don't worry about poisoning during the waves, just wear armor and you will never need tobacco dressings

Eat fish more than the dozens of bones, don't waste so much time cooking for energy

make choke points, the enemies come from decently obvious spots and when you learn them, all you need to do is wait

save every single wave (If you're on Green Hell mode, you better make a lot more armor and dont let it dip below %50)

congrats, you now are loaded with iron, tribal axes, and if you're dedicated enough, have an awesome new War Club!

Is there a way to tell what level you are on? Or do you have to just keep track and write it down?

The article says the war club is the mightiest weapon in the game? I feel the urge to get it and go after a caiman.

Is that true though? So far I've found that everything dies in a single headshot from basic arrows.

I also don't feel the need to have a "super weapon".

But I guess there are different types of players, and each one has his/her own preference and "fun". It may not be about the achievement, but about the process to achieve it.

Caimans need two to the head, three or maybe four elsewhere. Killing a caiman in melee is one of my personal goals. They're extremely hard to actually hit, for some reason. I landed a chop (not enough, I died) once with an aztec weapon, but it's damn hard.

I killed one once with only rocks. IT took about 30 hits or more. But it's good to level up your throwing xp.

25, actually. 70 for the White Demon.

Why bring bones? The tribesmen provide ALL the bones I need.

Most important is to use a Wahara village that has a water source nearby.

I'm on wave 47...but I don't know if I can make it to 50. it's really hard when they overrun you and hit you with bees almost every time. No chance to cheese them at some point.
Has anyone made it all the way to 50? How you do it?

I made it but it took a few tries. I died at least 6 times throughout the trial. I didn't have any tree platforms so there wasn't any bees.
