whats the point of a tutorial here
It literally teaches nothing. Well, apart from basic bandage and maybe making a campfire? But even this is just botched as it just tells you to use something for tinder, giving you basically a birds nest next to you to use which in real gameplay are basically impossible to find making you figure out that its the leaves that are a main source.

Other than that it doesnt teach you how to obtain clean water AT ALL. I mean... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at least give me some basic survival techniques that are available in the game because my own are no use if I can't even properly fill a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ coconut bowl? Or maybe, you know there is a lot of water in the ritual bowl, let me drink a rainwater from that? nope no can do figure it out on your own

holy moly it was one of the most triggering gaming experiences I had recently

I just pop on. you absolutely can drop a coconut bowl into the river and drag it (holding without putting into your bag, which make sense, have you tried putting a bowl of water into a bag irl?) to a campfire and boil it. or just leave it out in the rain. or you can make a coconut bidon aka bottle if the river is not next to your base. this game is all about figuring out stuff to survive. Ritual bowl is storyline stuff so idk.

the tut just teach you the very basic stuff, aka control, the all important bandage leaf and how to build thing (campfire). At least you're doing better than me when I started. the first 5 hrs, I was drinking straight from the river because I didn't even know coconut exist.

I have to agree that the tutorial is terrible. And worse yet, when you start up a game in story mode, it drops you into the tutorial again.

You can skip the tutorial by pressing Esc and yes, this game doesn't take you by the hand.

Not taking by the hand is fine, but why bother to pretend there is a tutorial when there really isn't?

Agree that the tutorial doesn't really help with anything, I still have to consult google or youtube for a lot of things in this game, because the game doesn't explain much. I reallly hat e the phrase saying the game doesnt hold your hand because to me that's like saying the game fails to introduce the game's mechanics to the player.

Like for example :
- how I got worms inside my hand, turns out it's because I sleep on the ground.
- how to remove worms, I have to use needle from bone/fishbone
- how do I get fishbone/bone ? (dunno yet I havent gotten worms yet but I suspect by hunting animals that have bones, which I dont know how to kill yet, since animals with bones either kill me or runaway, but I suspect using bow should be easy, which is what's next)
- how to make a bow, I haven't gotten the recipe
- and MANY MANY MORE.
- I watched a letsplay video just now, I laughed when he said he didn;t know how to equip a hand armor LOL.

I found all those answers for the hows from youtube/google instead of just playing the game.

I did not have to use any help to play Green Hell. Finding out about how the mechanics work was a huge part of the fun for me. I understand that not everybody will share my view, but I stick to the phrase "this game does not hold your hand".

For example, what would you use to make a bow? A long stick and a rope. Tried it, done.

Of course this made me play the whole game without any armor for the first time. It was more difficult than it would have been with armor (which I did not know exists), but it was fun. To each his own, I guess.

I just found another weird thing, things that despawn, and things that do not despawn, some even said things in storage boxes despawn, GEEZ IS THAT RIGHT ??

I am not a psychic, how do I know what stuffs despawn and what stuffs do not ??

I'll just stop playing until I have a confirmation. it would be very annoying to gather stuffs only to despawn without any clear reason.

Why though, WHY ?

This also creates confusion, by decay, is it for items that has spoil timer, or items dropped on the ground ??????????????????????

Nothing stored in a container or on a rack should despawn. But items such as tools begin to degrade when left lying around. This used to include coconut bidens; don't know if it still does, as I never leave them lying around anymore. :steammocking:

Once you begin accumulating stuff, you're well advised to begin crafting storage for it.

So anything put in a CRAFTED storage structure dedicated for those stuffs shouldn't or won't despawn ?

That's correct. Things in storages are safe.

I also never saw a coconut bidon or coconut half left lying around despawning. This can happen to weapons and smaller, flat objects though. It seems to me that sometimes, in rare cases, they glitch under the map.

The first time I survived to the dry season, all my coconut bidens, which I had placed on the table at the fishing camp/dock, despawned. :surprisedmrshadow::dislikemrshadow::sadmrshadow: That was a year or two ago, so it may have changed by now...but I'm still not taking any chances. ^^

There is durability, there is also decay/spoilage like food items, is it item with dura or item with spoilage or both ?
