Dryer rack wont dry!

I built a dryer rack. And it wont dry any meat.
I tried the pigs, I tried the armadillo, I tried the birds, I tried the mice; and non will dry. It just sits raw with no counter.

Weird. Because the pre-built dry rack, at a other map location (which I didnt built) dries meat and fish fine. So why wont my build do the same?

Some bug?

I notice it rains a lot in my dryer location. But not sure if that hinders it or not. Even when it is not raining; the counter does not start anyway.

Rain outside absolutely retracts the timer on the drying meat if the meat is touched by the rain; place a custom structure over top and shouldn't have a issue anymore.

Ok thanks Mike. Yes; my dryer is not protected from rain fall. And it dies rain enough in my location. Hm. I will build a custom shelter over the rack. I will try that.

Alright. So I did go about it the recommended way. And it worked. A roof over the rack.

However! the meat spoils just as soon that I take the dried meat off the rack to put into my backpack.

Being a programmer myself in games; I know this is actually a pretty easy fix. This strange game bug. And how long has it been, and the DEVS have still not fixed this rather easy feat. Why?

Serious, can we get a Patch where this is fixed?

I would like to take my Jerky Meat on the road with me; while exploring. After all that is the entire point of Dried Meat!!! A preservable which can be taken on the road!

Weird. I feel like I remember the meat immediately spoiling just as soon that I took it off the rack to store into my backpack. But I will play test this again next time I log into my game. To see if it will last for 3 days. Thanks!

it spoils right off the rack for me with something over the drying rack

The spoiler timer still counting so lets say I leave the meat on the dryer for a week it stays good no expired message until I move it to my backpack its instantly spoilt then however If eat straight off the rack it seems to be good. Try that instead.
Foods that dont expire for me is the long green monsteria can also be stored in the chest. Very high in Carbs. So the Monsteria plant I never break it down as it respawns solves the carbs .

Tins food donot expire either.
Put a roof over your dryer.
