Obsidian respawn?

Hey everyone!

Im not really sure, if this was already asked in the past, I saw questions about respawning flora and fauna, aswell as iron, which at least seem to respawn sometimes. But what about obsidian? The reason Im asking might be a bit redundant since its not the strongest crafting material in game anymore, but I still love how it looks and honestly, its the strongest in early game. Ive collected two on my way to the current camp Im residing in and placed them on the ground there till I could make a storage unit of some kind. When I wanted to go back to it they were gone :( So did I lose two rare obsidians already or will there be more? Thank you.

In survival mode they used to respawn but these devs change things.
The only way to know now is go back check the places where you found them in a week.
Killing natives will get you an obsidiun bone knife.

Obsidian seems to be like stone in my game. If you move far enough away, its spawns all over the place and moves around and such.

Guaranteed Obsidian location: On the inland you start out in story mode after the tutorial/prologue.. there is a small cave of sorts.. before you go over the log to the flower patch. Inside that cave you will find at least one obsidian.

Is it possible they sometimes just wont spawn? Ive noticed a few caves didnt have any obsidian... or iron.

Spawns seem to be a bit iffy since the last patch

Speaking of which... a spider just spawned in my current camp. Can they spawn in built houses or gardens now, too? I know has nothing to do with obsidian, but I just saw it and it scared me lol

Yes, it respawns after a while. My base is in a cave, I have a whole storage chest of it.
