The first main story is finished.
The second story "The spirits of Amazonia", I am not sure if that story is finished or still being added to.
Once you complete the story the game ends as you have "won".
Then there is a separate survival mode that doesn't have a ending. It just lets you create and survive.
Also the developers keep improving the game by adding more features to it.
So eventhough the first main story is done, the game is still being improved and added to.
I'm sure there's devs who're as good, but I doubt there's any who're better.
Yes, explain?????????
Yep, and it's just one thing on a very long list.
I like the game, really, but there is so many things who doesn't work well, or doesn't fit for the game, not well implemented, lake of basic features and more
The recent case about bidon and the glitch who wasn't fixed since long ago, more than a year, was a bug who let players to put a brew or soup inside a bidon, because YES, you can't do this in the game (our character is too dumb maybe ?).
But they finally fixed it, amazing right?
Then, players start to complaining about this fix who was very convenient, and somehow just a basic and logical feature for a survival game!
So Creepy Jar Team answered that they will keep the bug fixed, but will rush to add a feature like this in the game "soon".
And finishing with "it was something that we always like to add to the game" ... something so basic as this, more than 4 years later, with thousand of topic about this from players, requesting to add it or make something at least to be able to carry brew and soup in our backpack, but the only answer was a big silence.
And now they are saying they always had this in mind xD
And there is the mud building issue who overlap other building under it.
The issue instant spawn of native in your base even if there is no access to it anywhere, even in a close square without door and windows... It's amazonian magic :p
well, yes, this game isn't finished yet even if the state say it is.
Same for The Long Dark who still not have the final chapter of the story after so many years...
Man, you ain't lyin' about that. My two go-to survival games are GH & TLD, & the latter is currently a mess. The devs just announced an update devoted to nothing but bugfixes, due out at the end of the month, so fingers crossed.
As for this game, I was much relieved to see a bug that was busting my chops in SoA got patched quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed that the patch doesn't come loose. ;)
If I like a game well enough, I play around the bugs as best I can, but going through the changes does get tiresome sometimes.
Exactly
No game are perfect, it's true @Skarmo, and we can even say that some games are never finished because they have such a great potential and solid base that we could play it for years without any redundancy (Oxygen not included, Don't Starve Together, or even minecraft are good example about this)
Bug will always be present in our games, I am not even sure that a single game have 0 bug at all, maybe tetris? or Pong?
But I always doing the difference between a simple bug who can sometime be annoying and that we can just forget about it 30s later, and a bug/glitch that you see each time you play the game, again and again, you can't avoid it, and sometime can't avoid to "use it"
Or it's bug who have real impact to the feeling of the game, to the player experience.
Like I said above, if you build a wood wall with a frame for windows, and on top of it, you put something in mud, whatever it is, a wall with a door, or widow, full wall, half wall.
Then... half of the wall behind it, the wood wall with a windows, will have it upper half covered by mud, and it's not intentional or anything, it's a glitch because you can still fire arrow through it, you can throw stone or spear, but your vision is blocker.
I took Wood with Mud above it as example to explain it easier (my English if far from perfect)
But it the same with anything else above, it can be bamboo + mud on top, or even mud with mud on top.
Than mean that a door mud wall, with something in mud above it, will make impossible for the player to use the "door" to go inside, because it block player movement and vision.
Something like this in a "finished" isn't serious, and this is, again, just 1 example, there is more.
If you want a story with an ending and survival gameplay inbetween, yes, the game delivers.
If you want to go Rambo thats another thing.
