SOA Mu'agi Ritual Problem [SOLVED]
I've gained 800 trust with the first tribe and started the ritual but if I take more than a few steps without stopping then it ends and sends me back to the camp where I can try again but the same thing keeps happening.

If I take a few steps, stop, take a few steps, stop etc then I can continue with the ritual but it's making it really hard carrying the water bubbles to the correct place before the predators reach the injured tribesman.

Is this normal and if so is there anything I need to do to enable me to do the ritual without taking a few steps at a time?

I searched the internet but found nothing about this issue whatsoever.

EDIT: I'm wondering if it's because I haven't found all the legend stones and solved their mysteries so I'm concentrating on that part of the game to see if it helps.

EDIT2: For anyone else who may have this issue in the future check my post #15, I'm unable to mark it as the topic answer.

You can stab the predators to gain some time, and you need to give water to only one plant for each of the trials. That said, it's a bit bothersome anyway. Of course, you need to run like crazy all the time, I hope you don't get motion sickness like poor old "I've mostly played turn based strategy games for all my life" me.

Ye I know I can stab or throw spears at the predators but my problem is that I can't 'run like crazy' as I have to keep stopping every few steps which slows me down considerably.

Why do you stop? As far as I remember I managed to do the ritual by constantly running, snatching bubbles without stopping, slamming them onto the plants while running and charging to stab the kitties without slowing down, and I don't think you need to rest for energy because it's "magic". You'll have to try several times, that's a fact. It's frustrating and totally different from the rest of the game.
That said, rituals are obnoxious to say the least. Luckily the others are less frantic.

No, that's not normal. I had just the opposite on one occasion; sprinting would send me back. :steamfacepalm: If you haven't already, I'd start by verifying file integrity via Steam Client.

Yep, did that already as well as updating GPU drivers, still having the same issue.

You'll probably just have to be very strategic, then. The cats can be targeted from a fair distance away, which should help. I would also suggest doing a bug report; I think I forgot to, but I forget things more easily these days. :steamfacepalm: ^^

I have looked into that but of course wanted to see if anyone could offer a solution prior to going down that route. I will try solving all the legend mysteries first though. Thank you for your input.

Sorry, I didn't figure out it was a bug, I thought you just kept failing the ritual.

Have you something "special" when starting the ritual ? wounds ? overweighted ?
Which type of input ? keyboard, or controller ?

That's really a strange bug. :(

Nope, no wounds or overweight.

I use keyboard and mouse but do have a flight stick controller connected to my PC which has caused issues in a couple of other games. It did cross my mind to remove it but I'm not near the village atm to test it, however, it hasn't caused any conflicts with this game but when launched the game detects it and even asks if it should be the current input method to which I select 'no'.

Strange bug indeed.

Hi! Did unplugging your controller help with the Mu’agi ritual? If not, could you please send us a copy of the affected save file to: support@creepyjar.com , so we can investigate this situation further? :)

No, unfortunately removing the controller didn't fix the issue.

I have sent an email to support with the requested information.

I got a reply from Creepy Jar support saying they couldn't replicate the issue from the save game I sent them and suggested a few things I could try, mostly techy stuff like running as admin or trying a clean boot etc. I wasn't convinced any of their suggestions would work but tried running as admin but ye, it didn't help.

However, I thought I'd try finishing the ritual regardless and I'm happy to say that I managed it on my next attempt, but as I was playing it I was wracking my brain as to what might be causing the problem. It only happened when I pressed the forward key for a few seconds and this gave me an idea.

Anyway, it turns out the issue was related to my key bindings, which I change for all games that I can from WASD to TFGH, so I figured it must be the T command that cancels the ritual for some reason. I changed my movement keys back to WASD and yes, the problem was fixed! I reset all bindings to default settings and T is the default key for using the walkie talkie. I entered the ritual again, didn't move and pressed T for a few seconds and it quit the ritual and sent me back to the village camp, just like the issue I had. Unsure why it would do this when I changed my bindings but I will let Creepy Jar know my results.
