Where is the climbing gear in SOA?

I understand that the grappling hook isn't needed in SOA but how do you climb up and down the places that just need normal climbing gear? I can't seem to find it in game or any reference to it online specifically for SOA.

I take it you're playing SOA 3? Or which version?
You dont need climbing gear its a rope now approach rope and climb down or up.
All my climbing gear acquired from the Story was carried over until SOA 3.
You need to perform the ceromonial drink in Village from SO1 and SOA 2 give one statue to the boy.
There is one spot where you need to talk to a boy and gain his trust he will give the grappling hook needed. At the bamboo broken bridge.
Other SOA prior its at the airport in the shed on a shelf.

Strange. I'm still trying to explore, cure villagers, find totem things, destroy camps but I have yet to see one hanging rope I can climb up or down. Guess I just have to stay in these 2 areas (burned map and map 4) and keep going. Takes a while doesn't it?! I mean to get to the 800 trust you must have to do just about everything. Or there is something fundamental that I'm missing! Thanks for the response.

twistedoldloony could confirm which SOA version you're playing?
Finding totems is in SOA 3 is that what you're playing?
No totems in SOA 1 and 2.
To get 800 trust points is not too hard,
No kids are required to be returned in this DLC 3.
The ropes are located at the airport 2 places to climb down to the village elder in SOA 3, another is at the bamboobridge but has the boy.

But these earn trust. SOA 3 2 or 1.
Find the hanging corpses and bury them.

Explore caves to find sick tribesman and heal them, some need a goliath bandage or ash badgae or honey bandage, not a basic bandage so anything better,
some are poisoned so carry some lilly plantation leaves.

Find the fishing tribesman and fix whatever he needs to fish.
There is 2 or 3 of these.
Free women from cages.
Destroy all villages.
If you get a chance go see if you can talk to the Elder he may have dialogue for you .
