Now everyone wants a Capyburra as a Pet.....how sad.
Check out some videos, if you like survival type games it's def worth it esp on sale. So far no other game can replicate the exact feels you get from it, esp in survival mode.
Coming at this game with unrealistic expectations like the above poster will land you in a bad place. In hundreds of hours I've never encountered an issue that "broke the game", YMMV.
i personally love trying to achievement hunt on the free roam mode. the only thing i can say is the game isnt for everyone there are some graphic bits in the story and just free roam in general with it being a survival game so if you have any triggers i recommend going to the website "doesthedogdie" and search up green hell the video game (a movie also has that name) and you can go through and see any possible triggering content for the game this website has done wonders for my horror movie selection as i cant stomach a few things
The game will be hard when you start the story mode will hold your hand for the tutorial if you go straight to free roam you kinda skip that. after you get used to the mechanics its a very enjoyable game.
I highly recommend watching a lets play if you wanna go spoiler free watch someone play free roam for the while just to see if its something you like or watch the first part of a lets play (ep.1) in story mode.
The story is amazing with so many little details and it feels so alive. it never feels like you have levels to complete and go up and do it again and repeat and go up just to save the princess(Mario brothers reference) and a rail set path.
you you have any more detailed questions about the game the story etc i can 100% answer any and or all of them. I hope to see you in the forest with us.<3
Gonna split hairs here, but the sound in this game is objectively bad. It's not mixed at all for many sound effects. Examples being the player jumping sound, many animal calls (mouse being the worst), and of course the players constant swaering when performing simple tasks. It's possibly my least favorite aspect of the game but I've learned to live with it.
What is okay are ambient jungle sounds, the soft patter of rain on roofs and some of the music. The effect this has on someone like me (audio engineer) is that I cannot build in places with certain animals like anaconda Island due to the constant spam of mouse screeching. You can't wipe them out either as animals always respawn upon world loads at their spawn points. So anaconda Island is perma infested with LOUD rodents.
Not game breaking, but it could have been done much better and for me is the most annoying aspect of the game.
You always have 2 types of Answers....
Those who like it, and those who do not but still be around and play.
Isnt it strange?
No it doesn't. At all. I've got a hundred hours between PC and PS5 and I've yet to experience one single bug. Ever. No BSoD, nada. I've never gotten stuck in the geometry, never fell through the world, etc, etc. I've been playing it since early access as well and the devs have done a fantastic job of fixing what bugs were there in the early beginnings.
Right now? The game plays amazing. It's truly one of the best survival/crafting games on the market right now that is flooded with nothing but copycats trying to make a buck off the same ole bs that came before it.
I find it hilarious when someone gives a game a "bad" review but has logged in like 500 hours or more.
