To start each of them we had a choice to continue from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 by finding the Elder village in each one. Then speak to the Elder in that Village to commence that DLC.
For SOA 2 you need to go back from SOA 1 which had a nw map, go back to the drugs base find the village and speak to the elder.
Or when you launch Green Hell select SOA then continue
Green Hell 2 doesn't exist.
Are you maybe confusing the game modes that are in Green Hell with actual stand alone games?
Green Hell has the following game modes:
*Story
*survival
*Spirits of the Amazonia (this one was released in parts, the 3rd part being the newest update.
You can pick what mode you want to play from the main menu after selecting if your playing solo or multiplayer.
2) If so, do you need to complete the story first and then start the SOA adventure?
1) Yes
2) No
But you dont have to.
The original story mode & SoA, while related in terms of the story being told, are separate modes of play; you don't have to play either in order to play the other.
SOA 1 separate game.
SOA 2 separate game.
SOA 3 separate game.
SOA 1,2 .3 are a follow up to the main.
The Story is outlined here if you want skip playing it.

Just to be clear, there's the original story mode, & Spirits of Amazonia, which has 3 parts but is all one story. My understanding is that the latter serves as a prequel to the former.
