How to Know What's Better?
Well, we have no stats indicating what item is better, even if we test that out, we can only test the number of hits instead of damage itself, which is completely useless. How do I know what's better?

I'm playing the game and trying to find a reason based on difficulty to have that item... For example, we have Bamboo Spear, Bone Spear, Four Pronged Spear, Metal Spear, Obsidian Spear, Pronged Bamboo Spear, Stone Spear, Tribal Spear, and Weak Spear...

I can deduce which one is better based on the material made, or the difficulty to have that material. Something like Weak Spear which is just a cut piece of stick probably is the worst, and the Metal Spear problem is the best because metal is the best material in the entire game.

We can easily make Stone Spear right after starting the game, so it should be the next after the weakest one. Obsidian is one of those resources that you can't farm infinitely, we need to search for around the map, so I'm gonna assume it's the second-best material right before metal.

Between Bone Spear and Tribal Spear, I'm gonna assume Bone Spear is the worst because you can craft from basically any animal you kill. The Tribal Spear we can't craft, which means we need to have a little bit of luck to spawn a native with the spear in hands, so I'm gonna assume the Bone Spear comes first than Tribal Spear.

As the game defines, bamboo is material around the same level as a stick, but a little bit better, so I'm gonna assume Bamboo Spear is better than the weak spear. Its counter-part with 4 points should be better for using more materials to craft (in reality is worst since you increase the surface area of contact)

To be fair I don't know where the Stone Spear will fit in the order, because it's better than the Weak Spear and better than the Four-Pronged Spear, but I don't know if it's better than bamboo because isn't so easy to get the bamboo, you need to walk a lot and face some stuff to have bamboo.

01. Weak Spear.
02. Four-Pronged Spear.
03. Stone Spear.
04. Bamboo Spear.
05. Four-Pronged Bamboo Spear.
06. Bone Spear.
07. Tribal Spear.
08. Obsidian Spear.
09. Metal Spear.

That's my order, but again, I'm not 100% sure if this is right since we have no status indication, and the number of hits is completely useless to define which one is better.

there is a mod api which i think can track and check the damage done on each weapons. i think your list is somewhat correct but i would put tribal highest in terms of range as it has a pratty good range on melee attack but metal has the highest damage

Could you explain this to me a little better? I have no idea how to Mod the game.
I saw there are a few mods, but I have no idea how to see the damage number, none of that.

Honestly, the only point of the spear is to be thrown in the head of animals, and this is always a one-shot, no matter the spear. I use the Tribal when I found one because it is always at 100% when picked up.

Almost same for bow : arrow in the head and problem solved. I use the tribal bow for aestetic reason and regular arrow because they are cheap.

The only tool really important, for me, is the axe, if you build a lot like me. The one you do with 3x2 stones is excellent in therm of damage and durability. And the more you craft the same item, the better it become.

Edit : of course, for armor, the better the material, the better the protection and durability. As metal plate are awfull to craft, I mainly use bone armor; there are plenty of animals and natives that kindly share their bones with me :D:

I do agree with you. Bone is the best material to craft pretty much everything because the resource is everywhere. I'm playing the Spirits of Amazonia with my friends and we found a boat with the map, and a lot of Obsidian, so I did a lot of Obsidian stuff, but as soon as everything broke, I just craft everything out of Bone again.

I think Tribal Spear is better than Bone Spear, I'm always holding 3 on my hand, 2 i use to throw, and 1 I use to thrust.

I found out this video showing the number of HITS (not number of damage) of each Spear:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv48xElBWTw&ab_channel=HomelessHermit

But again... Number of hit doesn't help because I can have a weapon that deals 50 damage and I need two hits to kill an enemy with 100 health, and a weapon with 99 damage that also requires two hits to kill the same enemy, and obviously that 50 damage to 99 damage is a huge difference.

I basically just use all tribal stuff. lol Use your regular wood/stone weapons to kill some tribesmen and then just loot their stuff. They are good and last long enough to not worry about needing to make more for a while.

Question about the tools... What's the difference between tools, besides the durability?
Worst knives, for example, takes longer to cut corpses?
Or, worst axes takes longer to chop down a tree?

The knife in the 5th slot is just here to collect animals (and natives !) and no matter the material, you'll get the same amount. Only the collect skill will increase the ressources. The knife is even not damaged when collecting a corpse.

The only reason to craft an advanced knife is to use it as a weapon.

But axes, yes, you clearly see a difference between the most basic axe (1 stone + 1 stick) and the more advanced ones : they will last longer and cut the tree faster (and so, last even much longer).

As stones seems to be wolrd champions of hide & seek when you desperetly need them, I mostly use obsidian (I always have 2 pieces of obsidian in my backpack) or bones for my axe.

while knowing that your skills level up the more you craft things, your skills also levels up the more you use them so having higher skill level for each item you use also determines how hard you hit things, just look in your skill menu and you will see thier levels :)
