Items despawning
Seems like items in camp de-spawn after a while. Could have sworn I had a couple extra new coconuts and big stones around and then they seem to disappear. I killed a jaguar for the first time, barely survived, applied bandages and was exhausted so I slept a few hours. When I woke up the jaguar was gone, I didn't get a chance to harvest.

Also, how do you learn new recipes in game without cheating and looking on youtube?

As far as learning new recipes goes it just comes from experimenting with the crafting, or interacting with certain things. As an example if you go to any river and collect mud you learn several mud related recipes, or when harvesting iron for the first time it teaches you how to make a forge. There are also many recipes scattered around the map at both the abandoned villagers camps, and the man-made camps. This game rewards those willing to explore.

Edit: also as an added tip because I struggled with jaguars at first myself, if you throw your spear at them aiming for the head. It pretty much always one-shots them, as long as you actually hit them in the head.

Unless a bug, coconut bowl never despawn; but if you put them on a rock or a tree log, they can clip in the texture and fall on the ground, open you backpack to get back your mouse and hoover around the lace to find them.

Collectible, like rocks and sticks, will depsawn after a while if nor placed in a storage yes.

Same thing for tools/weapon you let on the ground, they will loose % time to time untill they despawn.

For tool/weapon recepies, you have to find it by yourself by experimenting, or you can sometimes find them already crafted in the world, your character will then write them in the book.

For big structures, like the tool rack, you have to find them already built in a native camp to learn how to make them. Some other structures auto unlock themselve when you collect their ingredient for the first time, like all the mud shematics when you collect mud in a river for the first time.

And about Jaguar, think about head shot with an arrow or a throwed spear.
You can combine a banana leaf + 2 ropes + 3 sticks (or bones) to make an armor.

Edit : Took a moment to write this and Pixel answered pretty much the same as I did xd

Ok thanks! Yeah the coconut bowls never de-spawn but brand new coconuts that I haven't opened yet eventually will. I built a storage box and it filled up so I dropped a bunch of rocks and bones on the floor but soon they started disappearing. I figured that rocks and bones shouldn't decay but they will. I have a bunch of logs on the ground in camp that have been there forever and never decayed. Oh well, still a cool game. I'm just used to The Long Dark where nothing disappears and you can move everything.
