Weapon Update... Maybe?
So, I've been playing with a friend and I realised that there's not many choices when it comes to fighting; we have axes, spears and bows, but theres a lot of weapons to have in the game but they're not.
This said, I've been making some "research" and found some weapons that might be able to fit in the game because they aren't complicated to make and are "rudimentary" Here's the list:

Atlatl: It's a "dart throwing device", a small stick with a slot to rest a dart, this has enough force to kill a deer (note that there aren't deers in GH, this is only for comparison).

Yawara: This one is a traditional Japanese weapon, it's a small stick with blunt tips on each side, it's used for striking rapidly, not making much damage but staggering the enemy, it can't be thrown due to the fact that it has to be strapped with a string to the users wrist.

Sling: A very old weapon but still used by many tribes along the Amazon Jungle, it's a string that has a pouch for storing a rock, as you swing it around it gains speed until the users trhows the rock with a forward motion (also called catapulting), this sends the rock with a lot of force.

Boleadoras: It's a rope that has attached two or three rocks, this one it's not used for harming but to trap the target, it's mainly used against fleeing animals.

Blowgun: Long hollow tube made for shooting darts by blowing through it (duh...).

Arrow tips: It's nice having arrows, tribal arrows and metal arrows, but there's something missing in the middle; why not making arrow tips with different materials? Bone tips would make a great arrow, not much drop moderate damage and bleeding is applied, stone tips on the other hand would deal high damage but drop faster, and no bleeding is applied. Dipping the normal arrows on resin allows to ignite them when near a fire source.

Darts: This would be used wtih the Blowgun and Atlatl ,this can be poisoned using the "Poison Dart Frog", giving it a use in survival.

Reinforced Knuckles: The game is missing a "Brawler" set of weapons, the Waraha tribesmen can strike very fast when holding a blade; the only "fast weapon" the player has are his fists; so why not reinforcing them?
This could be either a weapon or an upgrade to existing armor. They can be made of sticks, bone, and metal, each one having they're respective damage and attack speed.

Shields: Despite the lack of "Secondary hand" game mechanic, I still see Shields as a viable equipment/weapon; weighing a lot, it's only recomended for base defense or when travelling with an empty backpack; it can be used for blocking arrows but be careful because it leaves your back unprotected; you can upgrade it with bones spikes or metal spikes to deal some damage when bashing with it.

Mace/Hammer: A hefty and big rock tied to a big stick, a starter weapon but powerful enough to keep enemies at a distance, having such a heavy tip makes it slow to swing, although, when striking the enemy this bad boy deals massive damage.

Macuahuitl: A good looking but strong Mayan weapon, it can be described as a wooden sword with obsidian blades stuck to it, useful to defeat any opponent with a few hits.

Thanks to everybody that read this, bare in mind that this are only suggestions, and feel free to comment constructive critics.
The crafting recipes and stats would be made by the developers themselves.
Let's hope for more updates with new content!

The reason they don't is because this game is not combat oriented, it's about "realistic" survival in a jungle environment. It's the same reason there are not wave after wave of Tribals attacking you and your base. Same goes for why there are no zombies, chupacabra, or aliens.

So then the question is, why would you need more weapons?

Would be nice to have 2 or 3 more weapons :)

Out of everything here the one thing I would like would be additional arrow heads. Mostly just for the aesthetic. Bone arrows would be cool but seen as regular arrows kill with one shot if aimed correctly I don't think there needs to be any bleeding or extra damage done. Just a way to help increase crafting. Also poisoned darts would be pointless. The natives are immune to the frog poison already and I really don't want to chase game through the woods until they die of poison.
