Grappling Hook not working

So my wife and I have run into a bug. We got the grappling hook, and used it the first time, but now we are exploring the burned area of the map, and when we get to the grappling hook prompt past the little island camp thing with the dead big ass snake, it says grapplling hook is required to use, even though the grappling hook shows up on our backpacks when we go to the inventory. If anyone has had this issue and knows of a fix that isn't recoding the game or something that would be great. We really don't wanna have to restart our whole playthrough. Thanks

All I remember is that there's both a grappling hook, & something I *think* was called a grappling gun; IIRC, the latter acts as a "boost" to the former, increasing it's range. So it may just be that you need to find that item to proceed.

NGG is right. Somebody correct me on this, but if you were aiming for the grapple north or Ana Isle, then the map icon is wrong.

There isn't much up there, though. Small camp and *I THINK* a firestarter.

Adding to the above good suggestions there is a couple of places that require a grappling hook around Anaconda. When it requires the grappling hook gun the icon includes a kind of gun under the grppling hook.

the one North of Anaconda does indeed require the gun.

The one straight up behind Anaconda heading East doesnt.
