Why i can't find it

It took me forever but I eventually found one. They stand out a bit. It looks like they have the Wahara paint on almost..

I haven't found one yet, either.

You try to find it at night. I saw it at night near the village. It is the same size as a capybara and its skin is black camouflage.

That's probably the problem, I haven't been over that way yet (ie, on the "new old" map).

read the legend properly.its very easy to decrypt the legend message.the decryption means you can find it during the night time,must be raining and at places where it will fill up water when it rains.

i have found 2 places.1 is at 38w20s.there is a big tribe base and nearby at the end of one path has a small pond.i found one there.

2.near the small tribe base at 50w20s or near the drug base.there is a small rock place that fills up water.i found 2 there and made my own drums

Problem is, it hasnt rained in weeks in my game...

Also, it doesn't appear to spawn until you've found all the applicable inscriptions. I was camped right next to the seasonal watering hole at 38W20S, but never saw one until I had done so.

If it helps, wherever you see Tapir adults there will be babies. build a Snare Trap if not good with Bow..
This was at the end of the dry river where there is a pond with unsafe water which we can drink in moderation.

That was where I first found him, as well; did you ever see more than one at a time there? I only saw one appear there, but at the tribal village, I've seen a pair of them each night. ^^

This was after I crafted the drum for the village, I don't know if that makes a difference.

I saw several there nextgengranny. 2 or 3. also a lot of the adult Tapir so crafted a Snare Trap and caught 2 I placed their meat on dryer.
The baby Tapir also run around in the pond early morning day time .
I believe it was after I had made the ritual drum as I get the congrats on completing dlc 2,
then went back and finished off the last 2 legends to get the 1000 trust :)

looking at the date of my screenshots it was on the 29th I found the baby Tapir,
I finished the drum on the 28th :)
Posted these on the 30th helping out another player as then I had fully completed SOA 2 :)

Oh, nice! I haven't finished part 2 yet, I still need to find two more inscriptions for the legend that's been giving people trouble. Wish me luck! ^^
