Do I need to wait the maggot finish their meal ?

So maggot can cure the infected wound by let them eating those infected wound, but do I have to wait them to finish or just put the maggots on my wound and them cover it with bandage?

Place the maggots on the wound if it is greenish in colour, then wait, check the wound it will go back to looking clean red again then bandage it with molinaria leaf bandage or tobacco bandage or ash or honey etc

Do I have to stay in the checking screen or I can put down my arm and do something else then check it again later?

No just do whatever and check it in like 10 minutes or so.
Remember to wash your hands

Meanwhile can I swimming ? I just worry about swimming in water might wash the maggot away from the wound. What do you mean "wash your hands?" Before or after put a maggot on the wound?

Yup you can go swimming etc...
What Jaunitta means when she says wash your hands is........Make sure you are clean before putting on a bandage, if you are covered in dirt it will cause the wound to become infected again.

Adding, when you walk up to the water's edge rightclick it and there is several options, one being wash hands.
If you leave it till you see a dirty icon then you may already have parasites.
Infections are caused by,
1 - big cat attacks.
2 - eating with dirty hands and then not paying attention to any icons apearing on your health bar.
Always keep an eye on any symbols appearing on your heath bar make this the priority.
I know there is already so much to keep your distracted it can be overlooked.
