Armor vs Snakes
Having just made my first piece of armor, I put it on my legs, and was wondering, will leg armor actually prevent snake bites in this game? I could go kick a rattlesnake and find out, but I’d rather learn this way. Will it prevent us getting bitten and poisoned, or will it just reduce the initial health loss after taking some sort of damage to the armored limb?

Nope. You will still get the bite and poisoned. It only reduces damage to your health. This also applies to scorpions and spiders. Though, it does seem to protect you from ants and rashes.

Dang, well that sucks. I was thinking it would actually be a clever innovation someone might make in that situation. Leg guards to avoid getting killed by a snake bite. Thanks for the answer thought.

And I guess it protects you from piranhas. Because I was crossing the river at docks and in there are piranhas, so I heard sound like something hit my armor.

Yeah. It will protect you from all attacks and associated wounds except from venomous/poisonous creatures. Also, it does not protect you from fall scrapes but does protect you from fire if you accidentally walk over your campfire.
