Tribal firestarter?

Is it still in the game? I have visited 3 native camps so far (east, west and abandoned) and haven't found the recipe, and can't craft it using the 2x stick and 2x rope that it should be

Even without recipe it should work with two ticks and two ropes.
But it seams that there is no advantage to use it. The "fire making time" is always the same. Even with the bow-plank-fire-tool. v1.04

You're right, it's still possible to craft it with two sticks* and two ropes, you don't even need to have the blueprint. I just started a new survival game about an hour ago and I could craft it as the very first tool.

I'm not sure though, if it really has no advantage. I have a feeling that you need a little less stamina to start the fire even if the used time is nearly the same.

*two sticks: just use the normal sticks not the small ones.

True! Same time, but less stamina usage!
But imho not worth the overweight :-)

Yep that's what I remember the advantage being from back when I played the alpha, the fact that it uses less stamina can be a huge help if your stamina is running low and you really need to get a fire going though. The weight is not an issue either, I don't carry firestarters with me, just kindling. Sticks and rope are easy enough to collect you can just build them when you need them then drop after one use, good boost for crafting XP as well.

So what am I doing wrong? Because I put the mats down and it doesn't give me the option to craft it.

I found the real Tribal firestarter in a camp just down from the bamboo bridge in Survival mode.
If you want the tribal firestarter name on your tool.

or plank with stick

If you add a bow with a plank and a stick 1 rope you make a fire starter.

Firebow
1 bow 1 plank 1 small stone small stick

Are you in survival or in story mode?

Story mode.. but playing as survival haha I just use it for the extended map which I gather isn't available in survival mode?

I'm pretty sure the map in survival is the same as in the story mode after the release patch.
Though, I'm pretty sure that you're not able to craft the tribal firestarter without finding the blueprint in story mode. That's most likely what you "did wrong" and why you're not able to craft it yet.

That kind of makes sense, but also pretty weird since I can still craft everything else without needing BP first... also that I've been to all 3 camps that I think the BP is supposed to be found at at still haven't seen it. Feels like my game might be bugged out or something lol, im sitting here in a huge mud house with everything I need to survive indefinitely, but can't craft one of the most basic tools in the game
No big deal though, I get by just fine with the normal hand drill it's just a QOL thing lol.

Tools/weapons randomly spawn now, as you haven't found it on the first 3 camps it's most likely to be at one of the other 2.
